Glad to see a career taking place outside England. I may sound like a hypocrite here, currently playing with Blackburn, but I do otherwise enjoy playing with clubs in other leagues. Took me a while to realize that you're apparently playing in the 2nd tier? Interesting choice. I'll make sure to take note on how this one progresses. Looks good so far with the undefeated run and all. Good luck.
Thanks man. I am from Ireland and thought it would be interesting to this for once. I got a mod for FIFA16 that adds the Irish 2nd tier. Undefeated run over now unfortunately.

Nightmare May for Wexford FC as club falls to second defeat.

May proved to be a testing month for Wexford FC, as a demanding run of fixtures combined with injuries and suspensions slowed the club’s momentum in the First Division title race.

Match Results

May 11: Wexford FC 1–2 Athlone Town (M. Rowe)

May 15: UCD 1–1 Wexford FC (S. Nypan)

May 18: Wexford FC 2–0 Kerry FC (A. Dobbs, F. Wasilewski)

May 25: Longford Town 1–1 Wexford FC (A. Dobbs)

The month began with a double setback at Ferrycarrig Park as Athlone Town claimed a vital away win, a result that would later loom large in the table. A second loss in a row after Cobh shocked the Vikings the week before. A battling draw away to UCD followed, before Wexford briefly steadied the ship with a convincing home victory over Kerry FC. However, dropped points again on the road against Longford Town meant the Slaneysiders were unable to fully capitalise on their opportunities.

League Picture

As May draws to a close, Wexford now sit second in the table, two points behind leaders Cork City. Athlone Town remain in third, but are still a distant five points adrift of Wexford, leaving the promotion battle very much a two-horse race at the top for now.

Squad Challenges

Wexford’s form has been undeniably impacted by personnel issues. Captain Robbie McCourt remains sidelined with a broken elbow, while winger Ovidio Lopez has also been unavailable through injury. Compounding matters further, suspensions to Damien Dunne and Conor Levingston stretched squad depth during a crucial spell of fixtures.

Looking Ahead

Despite the challenges, Wexford remain firmly in the promotion hunt. With key players expected to return in the coming weeks, the focus now turns to regaining consistency and keeping pace with Cork City as the season enters a decisive phase.

Cant afford more injuries like this month though. Two key guys down, two suspended and we are dropping points all over the place. Top place gets automatic promorion, 2nd - 5th have to go to playoffs, so really want to win the league.

The small squad is really starting to show and hurt you. That is the difficulties with these leagues, a few injuries and you are in desperate times.

And chance you play Cork City in the final month to control your own destiny?

Small squad is very difficult. Most players are rated around 50 so losing any of my players that are 55 and over is very tough. We play everyone 4 times so I have Cork once more after this week I think!
