Week 2 Preview: vs. #13 Michigan Wolverines
Record: 1-0, 0-0 Big Ten
Last Year's Record: 9-4, 5-3 Big Ten
Head Coach: Willie Scruggs
Offensive Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Scheme: 3-3-5 Tite

Team Schedule
vs. Charleston Southern (FCS): W 72-10

Team Leaders
Passing: Nate Trufant 79 cmp%, 471 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT, 217.1 passer rating
Rushing: Alex Dickson 49 yards, 3.5 ypc, TD
Receiving: LaMarcus Hendrix 14 receptions, 231 yards, 3 TD
Defense: Morris Wayne 3 tackles, 2 TFL, 1.5 sacks

Injuries
Image EDGE Kevin Pagel (Sophomore) Abdominal Tear (Out)

Players to Watch
Image QB Nate Trufant (R-Soph) | 6′2″, 198LBS | 88 OVR, 88 SPD, 91 ACC, 99 COD, 99 THP, 87 SAC, 84 MAC, 72 DAC
Trufant dealt with injuries but when he was healthy, he was pretty good last year. He's taken another step so far this season, albeit against FCS competition, with a six-touchdown performance in the opener. While there are some physical limitations, Trufant's ability to make things happen off platform and off script should allow him to make a few of the splash plays we saw Stanford give up last week against a less talented Houston team.

Image WR Jahlil Magoolaghan (Jr) | 6′3″, 204LBS | 90 OVR, 97 SPD, 97 ACC, 85 COD, 82 CTH, 98 RLS
Nearly a thousand yard receiver last year, Magoolaghan is a physical, big body receiver that creates separation with his combination of size, speed and route running. It'll be interesting to see how Stanford deploys their secondary against Michigan's trio of receivers, which includes LaMarcus Hendrix who went off in Week 1 after being a 1,236-yard receiver for Michigan State last year, and John Dill who led the team in receiving last year.

Image EDGE Sam Hagg (R-Sr) | 6′3″, 229LBS | 88 OVR, 93 SPD, 95 ACC, 84 STR, 81 PMV, 89 FMV, 71 BSH
The Cardinal's running game does a lot of duo and gap down backer responsibility, often leaving defensive ends unblocked. This is because Stanford prioritizes getting to the second level, freeing up their runners for big gains and trusting their running back to break the line of scrimmage prior to the defensive end being able to get there. While that may work for most, this plays into Hagg's strengths as a lighter, uber athletic defensive end who wants to play down the line. It'll be interesting to see if Stanford decides to run right at Hagg and force him to be the point of attack defender and how Michigan will adjust.

Hard Rock Bet™
Spread: Stanford -1.5
Moneyline: Michigan +100
Over: 57.5

Place your bets and I'll keep track of your winnings/loss throughout the season. The winner's (by percentage with a minimum of 16 bets placed) team of choice will get a rating's bump and choose which conference to be the commissioner of for the following season to select my schedule. The second place will have second choice on which conference and so forth for third and fourth place.
