Hazzard Country- Good ol' Boys, This time meaning Harm

We figured this was going to be tougher in the playoffs then what we saw earlier in the year where we won 56-17. However, the first half went perfect for us with us controlling the clock with our run game. True Freshman QB Leamon scores on a run then the big TE scores on a odd play at the FB spot. We end up taking a 21-0 lead into the locker room. The play of the night a power I toss to our 244-pound HB, and he breaks tackle and dives into the endzone on 4th down. When they only scored 3 points in the 3rd it was over and we win pretty easy. While the final score was 35-10 it was a little closer than that as we scored 2 TD's late after they went for it on 4th down.
It did end up being pretty easy and never in doubt as we won the yards battle 440-168. Our defense struggled earlier in the year, and it appears to be working at the right time as they get just 157 passing yards. If it wasn't for our backup HB getting Ottis getting stopped inches short on the other side of the 50 twice, we win this game even better. The big stat was 3rd down they were just 12% and us 50%.
5 Game Balls vs LSU
HB Stewart (94) = 8 carries for 87 yards
HB Carswell (82) 20 yards and 3 TD
LB Lyght (87) = 7 tackles
LB Cobbs (78) = 4 tackles, 2 TFL, 0.5 sacks'
CB Hassenauer (95) = 5 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PBU
________________________________________________________
Up next vs Pitt the #2 seed with a 94-team rating so another tough one here. They kicked an FG on the opening drive and then our freshman QB made a bad pass and a few plays later they scored to go up 10. We got on the board in the 2nd when Tye Stewart scored on a short run to get us back in the game. We would go into the locker room down 3 and the only points coming in the 3rd was a FG by then. It was turnovers which were killing Hazzard with 3 of them in the first 3 quarters. We even went to our backup QB the better passer and had 2 of those. He would redeem himself finding the 6'6 Brigance in the corner on 3rd and goal and we took a 1-point lead. We got the ball back in the redzone and a TD about ends the game. We are already thinking do we go for 2 and make it 9 or kick it and make them need to 2-point conversation. Then our Flexbone FB has a bad team for his first career fumble, and they are back in the game. We get a sack a few plays later to go up 3 but can't do anything with it. We would get the ball back and make it 6 with under 2 minutes to play. Hassenauer our amazing CB seals the game in the final play with an interception.
We should have won this one going away as the yards were double 397 to 200. We still racked up 257 yards on the ground pretty good for this time of ugly game. We end up playing 3 QBs in this game and closed the game out with our 3rd stringer after some injuries. It's rare you are -3 in turnovers and somehow escape with a win. The defense again wins this one for us holding them to just 147 yards in the air.
5 Game Balls vs Pitt
CB Hassenauer (95) = 5 tackles, 1 int
CB Quaccia (94) = 12 tackles, 1 TFL
CB Toney (92) = 5 tackles, 4 PBU, 1 TFL
OT Cox (89) = 22 pancakes, 1 sack allowed
WR Brigance (88) = 4 catches for 41 yards, 1 TD
Note - this was my game I mostly just sim. I have made some tweaks where I can jump in 3 times per game. With only once being able to be a full drive and the others like key 3rd downs.

Hazzard Country- Good ol' Boys, This time meaning Harm

Semifinals Preview
3 Matchup to Watch
CB Jimmy Costanzo (95) vs WR Jimmy Brigance (88)
Even though Hazzard doesn't throw it a ton Jimmy is a lockdown CB with a mid 90's rating and 4.2 speed. Jalen is 6'6 with 4 elite level abilities and always seems to make one or two key catches when you wouldn't expect it. Can he do that vs a pair of elite CBs ?
DT Tyler Mayo (87) vs C Jason Gibbs (84)
DT is the weakest spot on the OSU team with good not great talent. While our C Gibbs is much better than his rating shows with 3 platinum abilities and one gold.
WR Dillon Ragas (93) vs CB Cade Hassenauer (95)
The OSU WR had a monster year 130 catches for 1,700 yards and 18 TD. The Hazzard pass defense has been on fire lately and Cade's got the ability to shut down anyone with platinum blanket coverage and 96 speed.
3 Biggest Questions
1. Can Ohio State win without throwing for 300+ yards?
2. Can Hazzard's true freshman QB make plays without turning it over?
3. Will Hazzard be able to run wide vs a elite defense?
4 Key Players
HB Kugbila (92) = 885 rush yards, 9 TD, 8.9 per &
TE Prosinki (81) = 87 catches for 680 yards, 9 TD & 143 rush yards and 6 TD
LB Lyght (87) = 102 tackles, 22 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 2 INT
S Grymes (94) = 96 tackles, 15 TFL, 1 INT
HB Beachum (91) = 1,280 yards, 13 TD, 4.7 per
WR Ragas (93) = 130 cacthes,, 1,767 yards, 18 TD
LB Incoom (89) = 104 tackles, 5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 2 INT
DT Officer (86) = 46 tackles, 20 TFL, 10.5 sacks

2035 Semifinals
It's 4th down and they would go for it and it looks like they have the 1st, but they run backwards and turn it over on downs. Just a few plays into the game again our freshman QB gets hurt and we will try and let him play through it. We end up getting an FG from the drive. Feeley a pass rusher for us gets a big sack on 3rd down and we start at the other 42 in good field position. We end up getting no points as we fumble reaching the ball out. We miss a tackle on a RPO, and they score from 11 yards out. It's 4th and 2 and we aren't quite at midfield and think we can hit out big TE on a drag for a big gain. He hits a defender and that causes the pass to be incomplete. They convert 2 3rd downs and a 4th down and catch a jump ball in the corner of the endzone to go up 11. We add an FG before halftime to cut it to 8 and get the ball.
We finally get into the endzone with Kugbila and its down to 2 pending the extra point. Our 6'6 WR Brigance had 2 big catches on that drive. We typically would just kick it this early but go for it with our favorite jet option play and it's no good. They convert another key 3rd down and go on to score another TD. We are now down 9 with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd and now that decision to go for 2 could cost us our season. We do answer quickly with a short TD run by flexbone FB Kong. We are down 2 going into the 4th so we got to have a stop here.
Soroh our former TE recruit turned DE now turned LB gets a massive sack on 3rd down to give us the ball back. It's made even better when they get a rare kick catch interference flag. Leamon our QB is just to hurt to play so we have to go to our senior that does have a much higher overall rating. We go on to score with a triple option inside the redzone and go up 5 with 7 minutes to go. It's 3rd and long and they call a screen pass. There OL destroys our guy and it kind of looks like he will trip him up and somehow, he doesn't. The first seems like a lock until Hassenaeur gets off his block and stops him inches short of the first. The tackle of his career and after this the HB decides to moonwalk. They would get the ball back and are punting it back to us with about 4 minutes on the clock. We aren't taking any chances with flags and call a punt safe which we always do. A DT gets pressure and barely touches the punter and they call a flag. The most controversial flag in school history as we are only up 2 points and a FG could beat us and they drive continues for them. Our star LB Lyght comes up huge a sack on 3rd down with 3:14 on the clock. Now just about 2 first downs and we win this.
Cesaro the senior QB is still in and its of note his 2 accuracy abilities are now scorching hot past the platinum level. Do we stick with the run game our get risky and pass it while he is hot and they are likely bringing pressure. We go in between and pick up a 1st down to our WR on a screen pass. It's now 3rd and 6 and we just get 1 yard so have to punt with 1:09 on the clock again just up 2. They have it close to midfield so another pass or two and they can kick the game winning FG. There QB is a senior rated 90 sails a pass high in the middle of the field which you never want to do. Our stud S Grymes intercepts it and we hang on barely 26-24
5 Game Balls
HB Kugbila (92) = 11 carries for 83 yards, 1 TD
S Grymes (94) = 5 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT
LB Lyght (87) = 11 tackles, 3 TFL, 1.5 sacks
LB Soroh (85) = key half a sack on 3rd down
CB Hassenauer (95) = 9 tackles, 1 TFL, key 3rd down tackle

Hazzard Country- Good ol' Boys, This time meaning Harm

We also want to point out our backup Rafeal Cesario broke the school career TD record. This is something we didn't even realize he was close to doing so we got lucky
3 Matchup to Watch
RG Greg Stephen (99) / Deshaun Thomas (98) vs Hazzard DL
The best pair of OL in the country so don't expect a lot of sacks to come in this one. We saw some key 3rd down sacks last game and now with this pair Hazzard may have to call more aggressive blitz then usual
C Jason Gibbs (84) vs Khamari Corto (90)
Only 3 DT on Miami's roster and one of them is a true freshman. With Hazzard's power run scheme, it's key the Miami DT stays on the field and healthy.
Miami QB Zach Bail vs Hazzard DB's
We don't see how Miami can win this game without him going for 300+ yards. The hazzard DB held up last week for the most part holding Ohio State to 250 yards. Zach's a senior with 89 speed, 99 arm strength plus accuracy and running type abilities.
3 Biggest Questions
1. What does Miami do differently after losing by 12 earlier in the year?
2. With only 3 DT on the roster and one a true freshman does Hazzard attack that?
3. Can Hazzard get pressure with 2 near perfect players on the right side of the OL?
4 Key Players
HB Kugbila (92) = 975 rush yards, 10 TD, 8.9 per
TE Prosinki (81) = 87 catches for 680 yards, 9 TD & 143 rush yards and 6 TD
LB Lyght (87) = 113tackles, 22 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 2 INT
S Grymes (94) = 96 tackles, 15 TFL, 2 INT
QB Zach Bail (94) = 68%, 4,226 yards, 38:6 & 214 rush yards and 4 TD
WR Earl Smalls (87) = 95 cacthes, 1,383 yards, 16 TD
LB Josh Lind (88) = 85 tackles, 4 TFL, 0.5 sacks, 1 INT
LB Jacques Blue (93) = 77 tackles, 23 TFL, 16.5 sacks

Hazzard Country- Good ol' Boys, This time meaning Harm

National Championship Game
Our defense holds up near the redzone and hold them to 3. Senior HB Tye Stewart shows his blistering speed scoring from 73 yards. We get a pass breakup on 3rd down late in the 1st quarter and will get the ball back. This drive ends with a 38-yard TD from fellow senior Kugbila on a hole so wide open I think you could have drove a truck through it. Hazzard is feeling great now up 14-3 and getting the ball to start the 3rd. They score quickly to get back into it and with 9 minutes its back to a 4-point lead. It's 4th and 5 and we have a long FG attempt and not from the middle of the field, so we go for it and get sacked so a bad decision on that one. It thankfully doesn't hurt us as our pass rush specialist Fred Feeley gets a sack on 3rd down. The true freshman QB Feeley scores on a 40-yard run and we go into halftime up 21-10 with getting the ball
On the drive to start the 3rd this time we do kick it since its in the middle and hit the 53 yarder. We hold them to a long FG which they hit and the key play being a sack from our senior DT Michaud. They would later hit another FG and at this point we are up 8 in the 4th quarter with under 7 minutes remaining. It's 3rd and long and HB has a key drop after being hit and we are forced to punt. They have it 3rd and inches and we get a loss for yards on a rush and a pass breakup (sorta) and they turn it over on downs so we are still up 8 with 4:06. We have a run play called on 2nd down and we see they are going super heavy aggressive blitz and press man coverage so we change to a pass. It's the wrong call as they still sack us and we have to punt again. It's now just 1 minute in the game and they go for the endzone and Hassenauer breaks it up a massive play on 3rd down. That pass rush speciliast Feeley ices the game with a sack on 4th down
Hazzard have now won the title for the 2nd time in school history. Miami made us work for it and we won a defense game 24-16
5 Game Balls
LB Lyght (87) = 13 tackles
CB Hassenauer (95) = 5 tackles, 2 PBU
DE Feeley (87) = 2 sacks
DT Michaud = Key sack in 2nd half
Stewart / Kugbula = combined 126 yards, 2 TD
