July 2025 Goal of the Month Nominations

Only three games this month, two league and one cup. But it didnt leave us short on wonderful goals. Picking just three was very difficult and it is very exciting to see both our new loan signings getting on the scoresheet on their debuts! The future still looks bright despite losing our multi time GOTM winner and boy wonder Sverre Nypan.

Vote below for you winner!

Goal 1: Kaylem Harnett vs Treaty Utd

Goal 2: Toby Collyer vs Finn Harps

Goal 3: Ovidio Lopez vs Finn Harps

WEXFORD FC SET FOR FULL-TIME FUTURE AFTER NYPAN WINDFALL

Slaneysiders to invest transfer millions into facilities, staff and professional contracts

Wexford FC are set to begin a major transition towards becoming a fully professional club following the record-breaking sale of teenage star Sverre Nypan.

The Slaneysiders banked a staggering €3.5 million after the midfielder completed his move to Belgian giants Standard Liège, and the club now plans to reinvest the windfall into a long-term transformation.

Sources inside Ferrycarrig Park say the club will begin upgrading training facilities, expanding the backroom team and gradually moving players onto full-time professional contracts.

The ambitious project is expected to roll out over the coming months, with the aim of completing the transition before the start of next season.

Club insiders believe the Nypan transfer has provided the financial platform needed to finally modernise the structure of the club and compete at a higher level both on and off the pitch.

Recruitment has already begun to reflect that ambition.

Wexford recently secured the loan signings of Toby Collyer and William Osula until January — deals that surprised many observers across the League of Ireland.

It is understood that two Premier League clubs felt confident sending their young talents to Wexford specifically because of the club’s developing professional structure and plans for expansion.

Director of Football Kevin Doyle is believed to have been instrumental in presenting the club’s long-term vision during negotiations, convincing English clubs that Wexford would provide a strong development environment.

For supporters, the changes could mark the beginning of a new era.

The club has long operated with limited resources compared to some of its rivals, but the Nypan transfer — combined with the new investment strategy — could allow Wexford to build a sustainable professional model for the first time in its history.

With promotion still firmly in sight this season, the off-field revolution may prove just as significant as anything that happens on the pitch.

3.5m seems so cheap to the top leagues in the world but it clearly makes a massive difference to teams like Wexford. One transfer and suddenly the back room staff and facilities are being updated.

The team is in a great position on and off the field. Can’t let promotion slip away now

Signing players on loan is really an effective way to get some instant quality. You need them to be starters though, otherwise they'll complain about playing time etc., but that shouldn't be a problem with Collyer and especially Osula. I've been impressed with him of late, especially his wondergoal against Man United was top class. Luring him to the Irish league is a scoop. Nothing less.

Yeah Fifa 16 is very forgiving with things like this. And I've set transfers to strict too. But I'll take it
