his A+ in outside shooting got me feeling myself lmao I've been trying shots I never have with him. He hit a step-back three off a screen against Ant that was :chefskiss:
ngl, I was remembering those convos where you said a 6'9 center wouldn't work when he was giving me the business in the first half
got lucky that they kept switching the screens and Ace could force him into tough situations
its early, but hoping this is the year we turn the corner. Pistons from a few years ago vibes

Boozer To Miss Extended Time With Broken Leg

Salt Lake City, UT. - The Utah Jazz are flying high with a 19-7 record through early December, but they're preparing to face their first major challenge of the Joe Mazzulla era.
The Jazz announced Friday, one day after Cameron Boozer left their contest at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks in the second quarter, that the second-year forward suffered a broken femur and is expected to miss the next four to six months.
The injury is a devastating blow to both Boozer's breakout season and Utah's championship aspirations. The 21-year-old was averaging 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.0 block per game while shooting significantly better than his rookie campaign—vindication for the summer work he put in with Kevin Garnett.
"Devastating injury for Cam," Mazzulla said Friday. "You feel for him because he was doing everything right. He put the work in this summer, and it was paying off. I talked to him this morning—he's in good spirits. Disappointed, obviously, but already eager to get back to work. For this team, it's another challenge we're going to embrace with the same intensity we've brought every night this season. This injury doesn't define our season. How we respond to it will."
When asked how the rotation will look without Boozer, Mazzulla confirmed that PJ Washington would slide into the starting power forward spot, with veteran Draymond Green likely earning increased minutes off the bench as a result.
Washington, who has thrived in his reserve role this season (8.1 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 43.4 percent from three), brings playoff experience and defensive versatility that should ease the transition. His ability to space the floor and switch defensively makes him a natural fit alongside Bam Adebayo in the frontcourt.
The more intriguing development: Green getting meaningful minutes for the first time all season.
The four-time NBA champion hasn't played outside of garbage time in the fourth quarter this season, embracing his mentorship role while watching from the bench. But with Boozer sidelined and the Jazz needing veteran leadership during adversity, Green's number is being called.
"Man, I can knock the rust off and give you a good 10, 15 minutes," Green said with a laugh when asked about the expanded role. Then, turning serious: "You don't gotta worry about me being locked in. I've been waiting for this. I'm ready."
If there's any positive to extract from the situation, it's this: Boozer's injury comes while the Jazz are playing their best basketball in years, not while they're fighting for playoff positioning in March.
At 19-7, Utah sits comfortably in the Western Conference playoff picture with a 2.5-game cushion over the play-in line. They have time to adjust, experiment with lineups, and integrate Washington into the starting five without the pressure of must-win games every night.
Boozer's timeline—four to six months—also means he could potentially return for the final weeks of the regular season or, more realistically, be ready for the playoffs if the Jazz advance deep enough. It's not ideal, but it's not season-ending either.
"We've got depth for a reason," Mazzulla said. "PJ's a proven player. Draymond's a champion. We'll figure it out. That's what good teams do."
The next two months will reveal everything about this Jazz team's championship mettle.
Can they maintain their defensive intensity without Boozer's improving versatility? Can Washington seamlessly transition from reserve back to starter? Can Green provide quality minutes at 37 years old? Can Ace Bailey and Bam Adebayo elevate their games to compensate for the loss?
Most importantly: Can they avoid the late-season collapse that defined last year's disaster?
This is exactly the type of adversity championship teams overcome. The 2015 Warriors lost Andre Iguodala for stretches and won the title. The 2019 Raptors navigated injuries all season and hoisted the trophy. Great teams don't make excuses—they adjust and execute.
The Jazz have the talent, the depth, and the coaching to survive Boozer's absence. Now they have to prove it.
"Cam will be back," Mazzulla said. "When he is, we're going to be a better team for having gone through this. That's the opportunity here—to get better through adversity. We're going to take it."
The season just got a lot more interesting in Salt Lake City.

Your Mazzula quotes need more work. “To get better with adversity” is good but it’s not off the wall or philosophical enough to be real for the ball coach.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the last shot:
"Nah, AB played great defense. He was right there, took away my first move, stayed attached. Seven seconds left, I gotta get something up. I created a little space, got a decent look, just didn't go down. That's basketball. He's one of the best defenders in the league for a reason—he makes those plays. I respect it. We'll be alright."
Utah Jazz Record: 20-7
Upcoming Schedule
NBA Cup Final vs Atlanta Hawks (21-3)
@ Chicago Bulls (9-17)
@ Atlanta Hawks (21-3)
@ Oklahoma City Thunder (20-7)
@ Orlando (3-22)
Dallas Mavericks (15-10)
