Questions remain but following Community Shield win, can Spurs challenge for a title spot?
Tottenham open their season this Saturday against Sunderland in what some Spurs fans are hoping will end with a spot back in the Champions League and perhaps even a title race.
Spurs finished fifth last season, level on points with Aston Villa to sneak into Europa League. They finished seven points from champion Newcastle with a bevy of questionable results throughout the season that could have made up that distance with the dropped points against Sunderland being the main focus for most fans and pundits in what was a promising first season under Kwamele Owusu that felt both satisfying with an FA Cup trophy and deep run in Champions League and yet left many wanting more from a squad that overachieved.
They'll get a chance to right those wrongs early with the opener against Sunderland at home and then an away trip to Southampton before the marquee affair of their early season slate with bouts against Manchester City and Manchester United in their first six games, both at home.
The teeth of the schedule resides in December, likely in the throes of Europa League battle. It's Newcastle away early in the month followed by Aston Villa before ending the month with Arsenal and Chelsea in the span of four days. They wrap up the London derbies the very next month with a trip to the Emirates and home stands against Fulham and Chelsea, all in the span of sixteen days.
The final stretch, however, is promising. It features three away fixtures but against Brentford, Manchester United and Sunderland on the final matchweek with their only home match coming against Southampton in the penultimate matchweek.

A lot of talent coming up. Good job finding suitable loan options for the youngsters, as it's otherwise impossible to maintain their progression towards their potentials.
Could be fun to see one or two talents break through though. Perhaps Chandler in midfield or Dubango on the wing? One needs to play them often for them not to stall though...
You're relying hard on Mathys Tel as the striker here. It looks a bit fragile, if he is hit by injuries or fatigue. Perhaps a more all-and-out striker to accompany him, now that Tel is also suitable playing from a wide position?

its like you're in my drafts

next update addresses the striker concern
my only thing is Rodrygo and Kudus have the flexibility to play striker, specifically Rodrygo. I'm also trying to balance out bringing in someone that would essentially be a backup striker and yet of enough quality to warrant regular playing time. Or do we upgrade altogether and keep Tel as the rotational striker like he was last year instead of an entrenched starter?
