How long do you plan to keep hold of Bogaerts and Machado? That budget flexibility opening up always seems to supercharge the Padres in saves.

they're both above average players for me right now. No one will trade for them, so my only option would be to just eat the money when they really start to decline

Nobody will trade for them? What are their current contracts looking like? Would you consider eating some of the money to move them?

Machado still has 8 years left at like $40M AAV. Xander also has 8 years left at about a $25M AAV. I just don’t think there’s any feasible way to offload their contracts unless they retire.

I see the "experts" saying 3rd in the NLW, but what are you hoping for/predicting?

2nd in the division and a Wild Card spot would be best case scenario tbh. Gonna be tough to keep up with the Dodgers in the division
