Steelers Overcome Five Turnovers In An Ugly Win Against Rival Baltimore

Trailing by 4 the Ravens had to get a touchdown. On 4th-and-inches from the five yard line, Lamar Jackson instead found the waiting arms of former teammate Patrick Queen for the sack to seal the Steelers victory.

Baltimore, MD. - It was not pretty. It was not clean. It was barely coherent at times. But the Pittsburgh Steelers will take it.
Pittsburgh outlasted the Baltimore Ravens 35-31 in a game that was far less explosive than the final score suggests; a turnover-riddled, ground-and-pound slugfest that tested the Steelers' resilience at every turn before Patrick Queen reminded his former employers exactly who they were dealing with, dropping Lamar Jackson for a fourth down sack to seal one of the more chaotic victories of the 2028 NFL season.
All 31 Baltimore points came directly off Pittsburgh turnovers, and the Steelers wasted no time providing them. Their first three consecutive drives ended in disaster; two interceptions and a fumble and the Ravens converted each one with the efficiency of a team that had been handed the game on a silver platter. Pittsburgh found themselves down 17-0 before the first quarter was half over, their offense in complete disarray and their sideline in crisis.
What followed was as unlikely a recovery as the 2028 Steelers have produced.
Quinshon Judkins anchored a methodical ground assault while Deebo Samuel provided the explosive plays Pittsburgh's passing game has been unable to generate, a pair of electric returns swinging field position and momentum back toward the visitors. Somehow, impossibly, the Steelers had clawed back to within three at halftime — trailing just 24-21 despite Gardner Minshew and Lamar Jackson combining for a grand total of 65 passing yards between them. It was the kind of first half that offensive coordinators have nightmares about.
Pittsburgh took the lead in the third quarter and appeared to be grinding the Ravens into submission before Keaton Mitchell—filling in for the injured Judkins—was rocked on a first down carry and coughed the ball up with 7:18 remaining. Jordan James took the ensuing possession 15 yards for the go-ahead score, and the Steelers were staring down a fifth turnover of the afternoon with their season hanging in the balance.
Scheelhaase never flinched. Rather than abandon the run and put the game in Minshew's uncertain hands, he leaned harder into what had kept Pittsburgh alive all afternoon. The ensuing drive covered 76 yards on 12 plays, 57 of them on the ground, draining all but 1:18 off the clock before Zachariah Branch hauled in an eight-yard touchdown to retake the lead.
It still wasn't over. Jackson—held to exactly 100 passing yards on the night but dangerous until the final snap—converted a timely scramble and found Mark Andrews for 27 yards to drag Baltimore back into range with a chance to steal the game.
Then Queen intervened. The former Raven met Jackson in the backfield on fourth down, driving him into the turf and sending the Pittsburgh sideline into a frenzy.
Scheelhaase kept his postgame assessment appropriately brief.
"It was ugly," he said, "but right now we'll take it any way we can."

Steelers Stifled In Another Ugly Game At Acrisure

Drake Maye was efficient, if not explosive, with a pair of touchdown passes that was enough to outlast the struggle Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.

| Team | Q | Time | Play | New England | Pittsburgh |
![]() | 2nd | 1:12 | Colby Parkinson, 6 Yd Pass From Drake Maye | 7 | 0 |

Pittsburgh ,PA. - The 2028 Pittsburgh Steelers have never pretended to be pretty. Sunday at Acrisure Stadium was a reminder of just how fragile this offense becomes when the one thing holding it together walks off the field injured.
Quinshon Judkins exited in the second quarter and the Steelers never recovered, falling 14-6 to the New England Patriots in a home loss that drops Pittsburgh to 5-5 and intensifies the questions surrounding an offense that has no margin for error when its most important player is unavailable.
Gardner Minshew completed 64 percent of his passes but managed just 163 yards on 18 completions, numbers that tell the story of a game plan that had no teeth without a functional running game to keep defenses honest. A late first half interception by Minshew proved to be the turning point, giving New England the field position they needed for Drake Maye to find tight end Colby Parkinson on a six-yard touchdown strike and finally put points on the board.
The Patriots came out of the locker room and immediately doubled down, Maye leading another efficient scoring drive to push the New England lead to 14. Maye finished north of 70 percent completion rate on the afternoon, workmanlike rather than explosive, but more than enough against a Pittsburgh offense that could not respond.
Keaton Mitchell's late touchdown made the final score cosmetically closer than the game ever felt.
Offensive coordinator Zach Taylor was candid about how much Judkins' absence altered everything.
"It's no secret we live and die by the run game right now," Taylor said. "Without Quin, it was a struggle."
Taylor declined to offer any update on Judkins' availability for next week.
