Mind numbing loss to Brentford highlights that Spurs are still Spurs
Spurs started the season as dominant as they possibly could, outscoring opponents 13-1 in their first three games before handling Manchester City in an early season clash that seemed to announce Tottenham as one of the top teams in the Premier League.

Since then, they've lost to Nottingham Forest and Brentford, bringing into question their legitimacy as a top side and whether or not these Spurs are still the old Spurs.

Dropping points in winnable games was a huge issue last season and likely kept Spurs out of Champions League football. They've now already lost two of those games in the first full month of the season, are without one of their top attacking players in Rodrygo for the next month and once again find themselves in sixth place despite having the best goal differential in the league.

The next month features a series of winnable games with two promoted squads in Ipswich and Leicester City and then away at Crystal Palace to end the month. Spurs get twelve days off between their matchup against Ipswich and Leicester City which should help alleviate some of their squad rotation as they balance two Europa League games (Ferencvaros, Braga) and their Carabao Cup fixture with Newcastle.

I think questions need to start being asked about this manager. The recruitment this summer was god awful.

"Spurs are still Spurs". Brillant quote.

Just had a moment like that myself, going from strength to strength, then losing 2-0 at home to effing Fulham.

I think he goes 'two players only for each position' and fill the rest up with homegrown, correct me if I see it wrong.

I'm not sure I agree. Their current squad IRL are full of players, who could easily play for bigger clubs. Romero and van de Ven were argued to be the best CB partnership by Jamie O'Hara last summer. Richarlison was a starting CF for Brazil. Incredible talents like Odobert, Udogie, Vuskovic, Tel and Kudus (off the top of my head). Truly this is a GREAT fifa team with room to grow. And Rodrygo has been added to the mix...

In that light, I do think it makes sense to add a bit more depth to the squad, perhaps making it a bit more robust or sturdy. Spurs already have the young hopes for the future, so I kind of like the transfer business, based on age/OVR, since I'm not familiar with them all...
