The Struggle Continues For Pittsburgh With Brutal MNF Loss To Baltimore

Two red zone interceptions not only left the Steelers without a touchdown on Monday Night Football, but also led to a pair of Ravens touchdown drives in the 27-3 loss.

Pittsburgh, PA. - The boos rained down from the Acrisure Stadium stands for most of the second half Monday night, and it was hard to argue with the sentiment.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were thoroughly dominated by the Baltimore Ravens 27-3 in a Monday Night Football drubbing that extends their losing streak to three games and drops them to a discouraging 5-7 on the season. The move to Gardner Minshew was supposed to stabilize an offense that had been hemorrhaging turnovers under Will Howard. Through five games the veteran has gone 1-4, and the questions that surrounded Howard have simply followed his replacement to the other side of the depth chart.

Lamar Jackson, who has been far from sharp this season, but Minshew made it easy enough for him. Two Pittsburgh turnovers gifted Baltimore the momentum they needed, and Jackson made them count both times.

The killing blow came at the end of the first half. With the Steelers trailing 10-3 and finally showing signs of life on a promising red zone drive, Nate Wiggins undercut DK Metcalf in the end zone and intercepted Minshew to snuff out any hope of a halftime adjustment rally. Jackson needed just enough time to find Ryan Wingo-the duo's second connection of the half—to push the Baltimore lead to 17-3 at the break, and the game never recovered from there.

Minshew's second interception arrived late in the fourth quarter with Pittsburgh desperately trying to manufacture a comeback. Rookie Marc Pineda stepped in front of the pass and returned it into Pittsburgh territory, setting up Jackson's third touchdown of the evening and providing the final margin.

The crowd made its feelings known throughout the second half, and Scheelhaase addressed it directly in the postgame.

"I know the fans are frustrated," he said. "We are too, believe me. We're working hard to try and right this ship before it's too late."

Pittsburgh stays home next week as the 3-9 Dallas Cowboys come to Acrisure Stadium.

The calls for you to bring Colin Kaepernick in would be crazy at this point.
