I would draw confidence from the current real life season: Arsenal appeared out of reach, but a Manchester team did catch up to them.
You're a bit in No Man's Land. Eight points with 17 games is doable, but the margin for error is all but gone. Otherwise it'll be about bringing that 2nd place home.

Yes, that's a good observation. Regardless, a 2nd place finish will also be an improvement from the 3rd place I got from my Live Start entry in the first.

It's funny though, 'cause I did call a bottlejob from Arsenal (IRL) months ago. Just like Liverpool's wins in the first five games of the season, it just didn't look sustainable to me. Saka was poor. Gyökeres was poor. Eze hardly played. Trossard was poor. Madueke too. Where should the goals come from? I just couldn't see them take it over the line, and they got so many points, where I didn't feel they deserved it. Starting with that season opener at Old Trafford. So I can't say I'm surprised about them dropping the ball (again). I was only surprised it took them this long.

Yeah, he's certainly one to keep an eye out for. But to be honest, with my (and United's) history playing ex-players, I was more concerned with Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku going into this one...
