Tottenham's only loss of the month was a decisive one as Spurs bow out of the Carabao Cup
Mathys Tel caught fire in the month of November, scoring seven goals in six games but it was his goal-less outing against Newcastle United in a 3-0 loss to The Magpies that many will remember as Spurs have been eliminated from the Carabao Cup.

Spurs got bounced out last year in the same round in similar fashion to London rival Chelsea. They remain alive in the FA Cup, which they won last year, and the Europa League where they have won all three games and have a goal differential of eight goals, the best in the competition.

Kwamele Owusu's side also has the best goal differential in league play this year, aided by their dominant play this previous month as they are in prime position to level Newcastle on points for the top of the table with a win this weekend against Bournemouth at home on Sunday.

It's a manageable but pivotal November for Spurs in their quest for Champions League football in this early portion of the season. With just two Europa Leagues coming against Aberdeen and Fenerbahce with the former presenting an opportunity to rotate some players, including 17-year old keeper Jack Clark which has been the regular in cup and European competitions as Guglielmo Vicario's deputy this season.

Following Bournemouth, Spurs have two road trips to Merseyside with Liverpool next week and Everton at the end of the month. Sandwiched between those fixtures is a London derby against West Ham at home.

7-0, what a goal fest. I was about to ask whether this was a new record for Spurs, but apparently they beat Wigan 9-1 in 2009. However, it is their biggest away win in the Premier League, beating their 7-1 win at Hull City in 2017.

The scoring output has surprised me, as well as some of our defensive performances

I think the addition of guys like Barreiro/Barco in place of Bentancur and to some extent Sarr in the midfield, who is still on the team and heavily featured, has given us some more athleticism and feels like we're winning more duels and leaving our center back in less compromising positions
