Carlisle Becomes First Bobcat to Win Maxwell, Walter Camp, Doak Walker and Paul Hornung Awards

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State running back/receiver Austin Carlisle became the first player in program history to win the Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, Doak Walker Award and Paul Hornung Award, sweeping four of the sport's most prestigious individual honors during this year's college football awards season.

Carlisle also finished as a Heisman Trophy finalist, with Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway taking home the award.

The Maxwell Award, now in its 90th year, has recognized the College Player of the Year since 1937. The Walter Camp Award, presented annually since 1967, similarly honors the nation's top overall player as voted by FBS head coaches and sports information directors. The Doak Walker Award, first given in 1990, is presented to the nation's top running back, while the Paul Hornung Award, established in 2010, recognizes the most versatile player in major college football.

Carlisle's do-everything season made him a natural fit for the full sweep. The transfer, who arrived in San Marcos after breaking UL Monroe's single-season passing records a year ago under Texas State offensive coordinator Jaleel Mosley, was deployed all over Mosley's offense in 2027 as a change-of-pace weapon.

Carlisle finished the season with 141 carries for 1,139 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns to go along with 107 receptions for 1,128 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns, totaling 2,267 all-purpose yards and 28 total touchdowns.

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State has hired Jaleel Mosley as its next offensive coordinator, the school announced Tuesday. Mosley spent the 2027 season at Texas State, where he helped lead the Bobcats to the Pac-12 Championship in his first and only season in San Marcos.

Mississippi State also considered Georgia State head coach Clay Helton and Minnesota offensive coordinator Greg Harbaugh Jr. for the position before ultimately hiring Mosley.

Mosley has informed Texas State that he will not coach in the Bobcats' upcoming Alamo Bowl matchup against Kansas State. Texas State will also be without quarterback Brad Jackson, who announced his intention to enter the 2028 NFL Draft, and running back/receiver Austin Carlisle, who is expected to enter the transfer portal.

also Carlise just did what no FBS player has ever done, record 1000 rush and receive yards in a season

Westbrook did it at Villanova in DII

if you can't win the Heisman making history what can you do. Carlisle to Mississippi State loading

also, you going to work for Jeff Lebby? :kghah:
