Even in a down year for the AFC West, mainly due to injuries to Kansas City, the Los Angeles Chargers are conceivably out of the playoff race as they trail the Chiefs by three games. The best they can hope for is ruin someone's season and first up are the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins have a slime one-game lead of the division and are just two games ahead of the last place New York Jets at 6-4. A loss to the Los Angeles Chargers could see them drop from top seed in the AFC to potentially out of the wild card spot and the upset is not far fetched.

Jalen Hurts first year as a full time starter has gone as well as one could expect despite his best receiver being a mix of journeymen in Andy Isabella, K.J. Hamler and Clay McGill.

The Chargers have faced tougher quarterbacks this season and while not probably, it's not impossible to imagine a world where Hurts struggles and Chargers can make it a dirty game that they win.

Dolphins Pounce Chargers Behind Hurts, McKinnon
The Los Angeles Chargers appear to have caught a case of the South Beach flu.

The Chargers never got off the bus, surrendering 24 points in the second quarter alone as the Miami Dolphins boat raced them on their way to a 44-25 blowout win on Sunday.

After taking a brief 10-7 lead early in the second quarter, Miami scored 24 unanswered points in eleven minutes, including a 90-yard run by Max McKinnon and a pick six by Josh Jackson with five seconds left in the half.

Jalen Hurts surprising season continued with 255 yards passing and 74 yards rushing with two touchdown. His numbers would be even more gaudy if his bubble screen to Andy Isabella that went for 41 yards was counted as a pass instead of a lateral.

A rash of injuries has derailed the Las Vegas Raiders season with two of their top offensive players in Josh Jacobs and Chris Godwin missing several games with injuries.

Kansas City has started pulling away with three straight wins while the Raiders have lost three in a row now. However, they are not mathematically out of it and with two matchups in the next three weeks against the Los Angeles Chargers, it's not too late for a rally.

The Chargers do get Hunter Henry back in the lineup although the team might opt to play more young guys down the stretch as with a loss, they are officially eliminated from the playoffs.

Controversial No Call On Final Play Gifts Raiders Win over Chargers Behind Comeback
Brian Flores will likely be getting a letter from the offices in New York after the Chargers head coach was enraged, almost grabbing an official following the controversial last play of the game.

Down a point with three seconds left in the game, Chargers QB Rashaud Wheaton threw the ball towards the right endzone where only one Charger -- Justin Jefferson -- had ran towards. The other three receivers ran to the left, splitting up the Raiders defense and leaving Jefferson one-on-two against safety Gilbert Lake and Trayvon Mullen.

Mullen appeared to tug on Jefferson's jersey, causing him to stumble as the ball went into Mullen's arms, ending the game 21-20 in the Raiders favor.

"It was a terrible call," Flores says of the flag not being thrown, "It was clear as day that it was pass interference."

The Chargers jumped out to a commanding 20-0 lead but when they couldn't run the football with both of their running backs averaging less than 2.1 yards per carry, they were unable to bleed out the clock and left the door open for the Raiders.

Rams Accuse Chargers of Tampering over Star CB Jalen Ramsey
The Los Angeles Rams have filed tampering charges against the Los Angeles Chargers related to an alleged dinner between Chargers general manager Stephon White and Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a source told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. ESPN first reported the news.

The NFL's definition of tampering reads as follows: "The term tampering, as used within the National Football League, refers to any interference by a member club with the employer-employee relationship of another club or any attempt by a club to impermissibly induce a person to seek employment with that club or with the NFL."

It was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Ramsey and his former college teammate and current Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. had dinner at a Los Angeles restaurant in September. At some point during the dinner, Chargers GM Stephon White joined them.

Within a week of the alleged meeting, Ramsey and his camp had ended all negotiations with the Rams on a new extension and when the Chargers moved second round pick Samuel Fleming to safety, it "set off some alarm bells" within the Rams front office, Rapoport added as they had already heard rumors of this alleged meeting.

Sometime in the past week, the Rams were provided 'tangible evidence' that White, Ramsey and James did have dinner together sometime this year which led to them filing this grievance.

James had actively been recruiting Ramsey on social media, commenting ' ' to a report back in September that Ramsey and the Rams were at odds over him playing out his final season of his contract as he mulled a hold out. Ramsey ultimately showed up to camp and has been active for every game this season.

The Chargers have no comment on the tampering allegation, Rapoport reported Wednesday.

A potential solution to this conflict is the Chargers forfeiting a draft pick.

Seattle is in danger of knocking themselves out of the playoff chase as with a loss and a win from any of the following teams: Atlanta, Carolina and Tampa. Strolling into Seattle are the Los Angeles Chargers, losers of five straight games after showing some life early in the season.

The Seahawks are getting healthy, however, with Chris Carson back into the lineup and Russell Wilson, despite his advanced age and potential nearing retirement, is still playing at a high level. The Chargers defense has struggled this season against the upper tier quarterbacks and Wilson is certainly that.
