If Carlos Calhoun and the Titans front office have any shot of extending their stay in Tennessee, they'll need to pull off a miracle and somehow upset the defending champions on the Monday Night Football spotlight.

The Titans were able to beat the Chiefs coming off their bye week five weeks ago but since then, they've dropped games to Houston, Las Vegas and Miami. While they've been more competitive than their record shows with a -6.2 point differential per game, the Los Angeles Chargers are a different beast.

Castonzo Throws Three Interceptions But Chargers Still Beat Titans
On the surface, Tennessee seemingly did everything right. They intercepted Will Castonzo three times. They were able to exploit some matchups in the middle of the field. Justin Herbert threw for nearly 300 yards. They kept the time of possession battle pretty close.

At the end of the day, though, the Chargers are just a better team and it showed in the 37-23 final on Monday night.

Castonzo had a sloppy game for his standard this season, overthrowing an open D.K. Metcalf which resulted in a pick while the other two were instances of his receivers getting out hustled for the football while it was in the air. He completed just 57 percent of his passes but still managed to throw for 325 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for another 58.

After failing to make the playoffs a few times, all it took was Travis Kelce retiring and Tyreek Hill leaving for the Chiefs to find themselves on the door of the playoffs and even have an outside shot at winning the division.

They'll need some help along the way but it starts with taking down the defending champion Chargers. Earlier in the season, Kansas City lost to Los Angeles as part of their three-game losing streak. Since then, however, they're 3-1 with the team coming off a three point win over the Broncos.

The Chiefs had no answer for Will Castonzo in the opener, who threw for 364 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 40 yards and a score. Castonzo is in the midst of his MVP campaign and needs just one touchdown to eclipse 40 touchdowns and with four games left in the season, Mahomes' record of 55 touchdowns in a single season might not be safe at all if Castonzo can put together another 4+ touchdown performance, which he's done seven times.

Chargers Clinch Division with 34-24 Win Over Chiefs, Make Push For Top Seed
When the Kansas City Chiefs had it going in the early part of this decade, no lead felt safe.

The Los Angeles Chargers are giving off those vibes. After starting the game slow with a goal-line interception and a 14-3 deficit, the Chargers would outscore them 31-10 for the rest of the game en route to clinching the division.

It was a mundane performance from Will Castonzo, who was out played by Patrick Mahomes' 338 yard day with no turnovers. Castonzo, however, made the plays when it mattered with two touchdowns both passing and rushing. He also rushed for over 100 yards for the first time this season, including a 35-yard run on 4th and 7 from the Chargers own 49-yard line in the third quarter.

Two plays later, he found Don Willson for the 10-yard touchdown to give him his 41st touchdown of the season.

After the game, Chiefs head coach Bill O'Brien was asked questions about his play calling, particularly rushing the ball just nine times despite a 86-yard run in the first quarter.
