so big show is clearly a heel. is triple h a fan favorite or heel as well? cant tell
Kind of a tweener atm. The crowd was cheering for him since he's paired with HBK, even though D-X does some heelish stuff.

Match #1: Ivory vs. Mickie James (c) | One on One Normal Match | Women's Championship
Ivory couldn't get much going against the champion in this bout and Mickie was able to beat her pretty quickly with a Mick Kick and Spiking DDT in a somewhat anti-climatic contest. Hopefully one of the other women can give Mickie a better challenge for the belt in the future.

Match #2: Prototype vs. Mansa (c) | No Holds Barred | United States Championship
With the Nation of Domination banned from ringside here, Mansa was left to fend for himself against the challenger, Prototype. Mansa tried to take advantage of the No Holds Barred rules, using the environment outside of the ring to cause major damage to Prototype. He looked to have it won when he brought the action back into the ring and hit the Mansa Cutter, but Prototype kicked out. The match continued and Prototype slowly started to gain the upper hand, eventually hitting a massive suplex on Mansa. He climbed the top rope and went for his Diving Elbow, Mansa had dodged this move before, but not this time as he caught all of it right in the chest. 1, 2, 3... the revolution is no more, courtesy of Prototype, and he is also your new United States Champion.

Match #3: Rhyno vs. Rob Van Dam (c) | Falls Count Anywhere | Hardcore Championship
Rhyno got his hands on a chair and never let go, brutalizing and bloodying the Hardcore Champion with it throughout the matchup. He looked to have Van Dam polished off when he went for a Gore Spear after a Belly to Belly suplex, but RVD showed amazing resilience to kick out at two. Rhyno wasn't impressed. He then took things to the extreme and wrapped a chair around Van Dam's neck before stomping on the end of the chair, effectively breaking the neck of the Hardcore Champion. Rhyno then covered him to pick up the victory and paramedics immediately rushed the scene to put RVD in a neck brace and escort him to the hospital.

Match #4: Hardy Boyz vs. Too Cool (c) | Two on Two Tag Team | World Tag Team Championships
Jeff Hardy and Scotty 2 Hotty started off this matchup, and there wasn't any other way to describe what was going on initially, other than Jeff was getting completely schooled. However, completely against the run of play, Jeff caught Scotty with a Twist of Fate that would've stolen the matchup if not for Rikishi breaking up the pin. Rikishi tagged in later but Scotty was badly hurt from Jeff's finisher and left out of commission. Rikishi fended for himself well, but eventually got hit with the Side Effect by Matt Hardy. Matt then tagged in his brother as they hit the Extreme Combination on Rikishi to become the new World Tag Team Champions.

Match #5: Bulk Bronson w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Apollo (c) w/ Ted DiBiase | One on One Normal Match | Intercontinental Championship
Bulk Bronson was physically dominating Apollo, who was simply trying his best to escape from the much larger superstar and not get pinned. Bronson wasn't having it though, he charged after Apollo and hit him with a huge spear then went for the pin. Apollo somehow kicked out at two. Realizing his client was in serious danger of losing his belt, Ted DiBiase slipped a chair into the ring. When Bulk picked up Apollo to set him up for the Muscle Buster, Apollo punched him in the stomach to stun him temporarily, then grabbed the chair and decked him with it. The referee called for the DQ, handing the win to Bronson, but Apollo and Dibiase smiled knowing that the title could only change hands on pinfall or submission, and as such, Apollo was still the IC Champ.

Match #6: Steve Austin vs. Edge vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Rock | Fatal 4-Way | Undisputed Championship
These four men were set to face off for the undoubted most prestigious prize in professional wrestling, the new and vacant, WWE Undisputed Championship. The winner would be known as the unquestioned number one wrestler in the industry. All four guys had their opportunity to win, but it came down to an incredible sequence at the end. Edge hit a massive spear on Kurt Angle and looked like he was about to win, but The Rock broke it up just in time. But then Austin came after him and tossed him out of the ring. Austin then hit a Stunner on Edge who was stumbling to his feet, but got taken out by Angle before he could go for the pin. By this time The Rock had returned to the ring. Simultaneously, he hit a Rock Bottom on Edge while Angle hit an Angle Slam on Austin. Both superstars went for the cover but The Rock just edged Kurt Angle, meaning his 3-count was the winner and he was the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

Main Event: (#1) Triple H vs. (#10) Big Show | One on One Normal Match | King of the Ring Final
Big Show just isn't really interested in the rules. Once again he jumped his opponent from behind during their entrance, this time going after the #1 overall seed, Triple H. HHH did a better job of fighting back than Benoit had done in the semi-finals, but a huge headbutt on the stage knocked him off his feet. Show rolled HHH into the ring and demanded that the referee call for the bell to ring and start the match. The ref obliged and Big Show went right after HHH, but got caught with a massive Spinebuster. HHH then tried to set up Show for the Pedigree, but the big man flipped him over his back. When HHH got to his feet, Show caught him by the neck and lifted him seven feet into the air before bringing him back down for a Chokeslam. One, two, three. Big Show is your 2003 King of the Ring.

Prototype's first belt, not bad. The Rock being undisputed Champ just makes sense, good result. Big Show is a dirty mf

Brand Split Reinstituted after Ratings Take Major Hit

Image
GREENWICH, CT --- WWE will be returning to a brand split after a month long experiment with a combined roster left several superstars underutilized and fans with waning interest. It turns out, many fans specifically tuned in to see RAW for certain superstars and Smackdown for others, and not knowing who would be on what show and when actually drove down viewership. While WWE brass had hoped the King of the Ring tournament would be a success, fans were seemingly upset by the outcome, especially the manner in which Big Show claimed the throne and briefcase granting him a shot at the title whenever he wants.

With this all in mind. WWE has decided to return to split rosters on the newly branded RAW and the Smackdown Live, which you can see broken down in the image at the bottom of this article. Instead of being awarded with the Undisputed Championship, The Rock will become WWE Champion, the flagship title for the Smackdown Live brand. AJ Styles will have his Money in the Bank briefcase returned to him as he has been re-hired, and his briefcase will be exclusive to Smackdown Live. The former World Heavyweight Championship has been renamed to the Universal Championship to get away from its old WCW history. That belt will be awarded at the next pay-per-view. Two other champions who never lost their belts, Rey Mysterio and Team Angle, will also be reinstated as Cruiserweight Champion and Smackdown Tag Team Champions (formerly WWE Tag Team Champions) respectively on Smackdown Live, both of those belts have received re-designs.

Lastly, after his rampant cheating in the King of the Ring tournament, Big Show has been given an ultimatum from Mr. McMahon. Win or you're fired. He will face Triple H, the man he defeated in the King of the Ring final, one on one in the main event of RAW. If Big Show wins, he keeps his RAW Money in the Bank briefcase and his job in the WWE. If Big Show loses, HHH is awarded the RAW Money in the Bank briefcase and Show is fired from the WWE.

Match #1: Mickie James vs. Lita | One on One Normal Match
Lita came out on her own with Edge now on Smackdown Live following the recent brand shakeup. She took on the Women's Champion, Mickie James, but came up short when her Twist of Fate attempt was countered into a Spiking DDT by the champion. After the match, a newcomer to the WWE, Bianca Belair, appeared on the stage and stared down Mickie James stating her intentions to come for her title as soon as possible.

Match #2: Prototype vs. Mansa | One on One Normal Match
The new United States Champion, Prototype came out of his van looking thrilled to be champion and got a great reception from the crowd. It was shortlived though. When he was about halfway up the ramp, Mansa attacked him from behind with a running bulldog. With Prototype down, Mansa picked up what he believed to be HIS United States Championship and waited for Prototype to get up. Then Mansa blasted the champ across the face with the belt, knocking him out cold, before holding it high in the air as he stood over him.

Match #3: Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro | One on One Normal Match
The newcomer, Cesaro, also known as the Swiss Superman, put on a really good showing early doors against Jeff Hardy. He was hot out of the gates and had one half of the RAW Tag Team Champions reeling. Cesaro hit Jeff with a nasty uppercut then locked him in a Sharpshooter in the center of the ring. Jeff writhed in pain but was eventually able to roll his way out of the submission hold. Then his comeback started and culminated with Jeff hitting Cesaro with the Twist of Fate. Though Cesaro kicked out at two, too much damage had been done and Jeff won it moments later with a Swanton Bomb. After the match, Matt Hardy came out to celebrate with his brother as a dejected Cesaro sat alone outside the ring, frustrated at losing his debut.

Main Event: Triple H vs. Big Show | One on One Normal Match | RAW Money in the Bank
This was a match between Triple H and Big Show for the RAW Money in the Bank briefcase that Big Show had "earned" by winning the King of the Ring tournament. Big Show continued the dominance he'd shown in the tournament when it started, despite not being able to resort to his usual tactics of attacking his opponent before the match. All hell broke loose though when Big Show went for a KO Punch on HHH and missed, knocking out the referee instead. Shawn Michaels, dressed in DX garb, hopped the barricade and rushed the ring, hitting a Sweet Chin Music on Big Show. Shawn then rolled out of the ring and ran off before the referee recovered and was none the wiser. A game Triple H smiled, and savoured the moment before hitting a Pedigree on Big Show and covering him to win the RAW Money in the Bank Briefcase. Triple H wasn't done though, he repeatedly stomped on Big Show, before finally putting the giant out of commission for good by resting his head on top of the briefcase and stomping on his head directly through the steel. HBK came out to celebrate with him as they both did their signature D-X pose and elicited a mixed reaction from a crowd who wanted to cheer the reformation of this tag team but could not abide by their actions.

I like the roster. Only think I question is splitting up E+C and the Hardyz.

Prototype van pic is epic. Be needs to get in the nation's good graces.
