Positives: Sidney Cross has promise as a scoring PG who can set up guys too. He uses his strong frame well to absorb contact around the rim. He isn’t terribly explosive, but finishes strong around the rim regardless. He has solid size, standing about 6’4" in shoes with a 6’7" wingspan. Cross is a quality passer that has the ability to create for his teammates by driving into the lane and kicking the ball out. Scouts say he looks more natural as a playmaker in the drive and dish game, keeping his head up while showing a willingness to kick it out to shooters. He can be an effective on-ball defender. He has proven many times to be a team leader with an unmatchable competitive drive.
Negatives: Cross is not a true point guard. He looks for his own shot first before looking to pass the ball. He has improved his decision-making over the last few years, but can get carried away and take questionable shots when he gets hot. Cross is notoriously turnover prone in the half court, sometimes forcing a pass or over-dribbling.
