Is There Even a Defense? Rutgers Falls Embarrassingly to Baylor
Rutgers (1-2) lost 90-71 to Baylor (3-1) in the first round of the Advocare Invitational while giving up 58% shooting and 33 free throw attempts. Baylor was led by senior center Nathan Sanchez who put up 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, and 1 steal despite playing only 18 minutes due to foul trouble. Sanchez was 7 of 8 from the floor. Junior forward Keyon White scored 16 points on 5 of 8 shooting. White added 1 assist, 4 rebounds, and a block. Junior guard James Wise scored 12 points on 3 of 4 shooting. Wise added 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Senior forward Ted Cleveland scored only 6 points and struggled to add anything else.
For the Scarlet Knights, senior forward Melvin Lytle scored only 6 points on 1 of 5 shooting. Lytle added 2 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.
Rutgers next game is November 28 at home against South Alabama (3-1).
