TIME FLIES

Game twenty went into the book just as fast as it came this season. Khyri was rolling through everyone with strong play. It goes without saying, some of the WNBA players were roused this year. Some slight competition in the Player of the Week" awards, with Khyri winning every two weeks, but brought home the Player of the Month awards. Wheels were starting to spin in the revolution, slowly, but surely. Tonight though, Khyri nearly caught off guard with a surprised by the Las Vegas Aces. They're new Ace, Jordin Canada...

"Hey, great game out there Khyri."

"Thanks Chantel, you too, girl", Khyri gives a quick hug as Chantel passes by in the corridor. "One more game and we can relax for a bit!"

"Tell me about it", Chantel Nwaba replied.

Katie Lou scurries to catch up with Khyri as she turned her attention her way. "So, she finally came back."

"Jordin? Yeah, seems that way", Khyri said with slight disappointment.

"You don't sound much elated for that."

"Not like we were on the best of terms when I came to the WNBA. Did you knew she had came back?"

"Yeah. I learned last night on social media, was a bit surprised."

"And, you couldn't shoot a call or text my way to let me know?", Khyri asked.

"I just assumed you knew already. I think we all found out last minute."

"I had no idea until we got out there."

"Wait, you played with blind personal? That's not like you."

"I mean, it's two games til the break. How hard is it to put the ball through the basket more times than the other team?"

"But still, you know Sue is all about our diligence."

"True... I don't need her barking down on me, as much as I love her, ha"

"Hey, Khyri!" Just as Khyri and Katie was about to step into their locker room, Jordin caught up with the two.

"Speak of the devil. I'll see you inside Khy."

With Katie stepping away, Khyri turned her attention to Jordin. A bit of a silence drawn ire between the two as Jordin glared a smile her way. Khyri did not reciprocate.

"What's up?"

"... What's up? That's all I get after two years? Come on, it's good to see you."

"Jordin, don't act like we're best friends all of a sudden."

"Whoa, whoa, wha'ts going on with the hostility? You still upset about how I treated you way back then?"

"I wouldn't call it upset, but you don't warrant any brownie points with me", Khyri retorted.

"Alright, alright, that's fair. I guess we did leave things on bad terms. But I thought us winning a title for Sue was kinda mend things, put water under the bridge?"

"It's all under the bridge. Past is the past, but you left the respect with a bad taste."

"Yeaaahhh, I did. Look, I'm sorry, I apologize. I know I was a mean bitch towards you when you was a rookie, but you gotta understand, I was next in line with Jewell and Breanna and you just swooped in and took all that hard work from me."

"So, that's your excuse? You looking for pity for something that wasn't my call?"

"No, but I know how it goes. I just handled it wrong. That's my bad and I should've realized it, but my pride was in the way."

"Yeah, you Compton girls were always prideful."

"No lies told there!" Jordin laughs off the remark.

"Look, just wanted to see you, clear the air with you. You look good and I've seen you've done well for yourself in the league. You're hardly the chick you were back then."

"Thank you, you look well too. Though, I'm a little wary of all this niceness you're displaying."

"No facade, girlie. It's been two years, I was playing overseas rebuilding my own game. Let that past go, you'll get wrinkles before you're 30."

Khyri tried not to show any signs of her funny bone being tickled, but she takes a deep breather and calls a truce with Jordin.

"So, I'll see you in L.A.? Friendly rival?"

"I'll be there", Khyri replied.

As Jordin walked off, she passes Sue Bird along the way, who caught the two speaking from a distance. Both hugging, Sue seemed a bit baffled of the new leaf with Khyri.

"What was all that about?"

"Beats me. She was a little too cheery for my liking."

"Yeah, but don't let her get to you. Could be mind games or whatever. And sorry, I didn't pre-game you on her arrival. Thought it be a nice little surprise for you."
