Definitely hurt our frontcourt rotation, as you can see on our depth chart here:

First game was definitely different. The biggest change was the loss of Myles' spacing on offense - Isaiah Jackson can have a similar impact on defense to Turner, but he can't shoot for shit, he's strictly a rim runner/lob threat. With him and Jalen Smith as our starting frontcourt, our pick-and-pop/5-out sets are much less impactful.

JV is sitting with a shoulder injury at the moment, and once he's back I think that issue might improve - he's as good a shooter as Myles, plus a better rebounder. I also might just hold him out for the rest of the season to get my young guys more run and help us lose some more games for the Wembanyama sweepstakes.

It hurt to make the move, it really did, but it was time. I was waffling on an extension and the Pelicans had picks to dangle. JV is someone I'm happy to have too, moves some cap space to next offseason and gets us a very servicable replacement for Turner in the meantime. Not sure about Goga tho he ain't getting too many minutes from this Isaiah Jackson stan.

I want to see it work out so bad. Not sure he'd ever play for New Orleans IRL but wanted to do something funky, plus that pick haul for Brooklyn is insane.
