HEART & SOUL
"Hey, Tiny, thanks for doing this with me. I really appreciated the help."
"Hey, no problem. Glad to help a friend. So, you think you can settle in here nicely?"
"Yeah, absolutely, this is perfect." Khyri replied.
Khyri been keeping under the radar ever since her announcement on social media a couple months back. Fans been wondering what she's been up to and what was in stored, but the trail has gone cold since then. Recently, Khyri just closed a deal on a new estate in Nashville, with the assist from Tiny Jemenez. A beautiful $5.4 Million, three-storied home, with 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms on 2 acres of land. Zebra marbled counters and floors, with black interiors. Typically a house you'd normally see on TV of the likes of "The Haves & The Havenots".
"This place is amazing, I must say. Prime choice in Brentwood. Took a few phone calls, but I think this is pretty sweet." Tiny praised.
"I know the kids and the family will love it."
"Yeah, no doubt about it... Been keeping up with Kairos? He's been putting the work since moving to Utah."
"He's just like his old man. All he needed was to be in the right place, now look at him. I'm so proud of him. I can't believe I helped raised that little boy into the man he is today."
"I know Recks is proud of you nonetheless."
"Yeah, these kids make me feel like he never left us completely..."
"Alright, so this is the last box here." Tiny quickly changed the subject from mellowing out. "Where would you want this?"
"Just right over there by the on the counter in the kitchen. Those are mostly pantry stuff."
"Wait, you don't buy new stuff?"
"You don't finish with what you got?" Khyri deflected.
"Tiny never finishes, always on the job." he jested. "Hey, maybe soon I can bring the kids and my woman over. Do a little house warming, if you will."
"I'd really like that. That'll be fun. Just as soon as Kairos' grandparents and my Tia comes in from California. They were supposed to fly out tomorrow but got rescheduled."
"Don't worry, I'll hook them up." Tiny retorted. "Got a private jet out there just collecting dust. I'll have them here as soon as tomorrow evening."
"Tiny, you're doing too much, but thank you."
"I look out for my friends and family, no worries." waiving off Khyri's gratitude. "If Recks was here, I'm sure he'd do the same for me."
"Got a point. He's always been the type to get inclusive with his friends, family, the community." Khyri dialing back the memories perusing through her mind. "I have no clue why he never introduced you to us."
"Beats me. I guess, wrong time, wrong place. I was in Phoenix most of the time, before I expanded." Tiny guessed. "But, we're here now. Good friends, in this big, luxurious home of yours. You sure know how to pick 'em."
"Hey, wasn't for you, I'd still be on the hunt for a home. While my time in Ohio was peaceful, kids are getting older, and don't need them running the streets out there. Too dangerous."
"Double down on that. 100%. Made a good call. And not only that, "Tiny Gymenez" is coming to Nashville. This'll be the 15th gym across the nation."
"What? You didn't tell me! Congratulations!" Khyri was excited about the news.
"Wanted to officialize it first, you're the first to know. Going to smack a big billboard up once we get the foundation worked on." Tiny says. "So about April or May, we should have a new gym in the city. But this one's special. We're going to add a gym studio for kids only."
"Uh! See, already sold me! I'm definitely coming! Where do I sign up these hyper-active kids!" Khyri laughed.
"Sign up? Whole family gets a free lifetime membership. No deets, all sweat."
"Tiny, we'll all be there on grand opening. I'll see to it my-self that it's a boon."
"Nice. See, everything works out. Big success is the Tiny increments." Tiny punned
"Yeah, I see what you did there. Speaking of which, you should tap in on the 10th. Got a big announcement to make."
"Oh yeah? Too much to ask for an inside scoop?"
"Lets just say that I'm looking to do something different than before."
"You're killing me here, Khyri."
"It's only eight days!" Khyri laughed. "You can hold out til' then."
"Okay, fine. I can't wait. But hey, it's time I get going. My youngest gets cranky if I don't read them their bedtime story. It's been fun chopping it up with you, and I know you'll do well here."
"Thank you so much for everything today, Tiny. I really appreciate it."
Tiny made his way off the premises before Khyri made her way back inside, taking in the new scenery. After spending 5 years in Ohio, mending her mind, heart, and life, Khyri felt it was time to breathe fresh air once again. Now a new resident of Brentwood, Nashville, Khyri could start fresh and live her dream...
[A few hours later]
After Khyri settled in a few areas on the manor, Khyri took a break. Turning on NBATV, Khyri caught the Jazz & Sixers game in the midst of the 2nd quarter. Having a glass of wine, Khyri sits back and relaxes, enjoying the game as she watches Kairos play. It wouldn't take long for Khyri to go on social media, surfing through, looking at the talk and hype around Kairos. She was really proud of the kid that they once trashed talked.
"He finally came into his own. Didn't take long, but you still have a long way out of Recks' long cast of a shadow..."
About thirty minutes later, Khyri found her-self going through her contacts. After finding the person she was looking for, she made the call after a few seconds...
"Hello? Ty here."
"Hey, Ty."
"Khyri? Oh my goad, how the hell are you? Long time, no hear. How's the kids?"
"It definitely has, and the kids are great. I'm great. You got time to talk?"
"Yeah, I do, what's going on?"
Khyri and Ty's conversation went on for almost an hour and a half, for which it should've only taken about 15-20 minutes, but casual conversation has dragged on longer than it should have. A lot of back and forth pacing from Khyri, hearing all the news, who's who, who's in, who's out.
"You sure about this, Khyri?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. Lets do it."
"Hell, don't have to tell me twice. I'm on it. I'll get the word out, grab some feelers, and get back to you asap."
"Sounds good. And Ty, it's really good hearing from you."
"Likewise. I'll be in touch soon."
With that, their call ended. Khyri looked around, seeing all that is done and undone before panning over back to the TV where Kairos dunked and the Jazz fans goes wild for it. After collecting her thoughts, she lets out a big sigh.
"Looks like it's going to be a long year. But I do it for you, any time, Recks..."
