Scott Steiner Fired Amid PED Scandal

Image

In an unforeseen twist that has sent shockwaves through the wrestling world, Scott Steiner, known for his larger-than-life persona, has been handed a shocking exit from WWE. The abrupt departure comes in the wake of a failed drug test for Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs), culminating in his untimely dismissal from the company.

The powerhouse athlete, renowned for his fierce dominance and uncanny charisma, had held the Intercontinental title with undeniable pride. However, the revelation of the failed drug test has cast a shadow over his illustrious career, prompting WWE to take swift and decisive action.

Steiner's departure not only means the end of his reign as Intercontinental Champion but also serves as a sobering reminder of the ongoing battle against substance abuse in professional wrestling. WWE's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the sport remains steadfast, as the company takes stringent measures to ensure a level playing field for all competitors.

The news has left fans stunned, and the void left by Steiner's departure will undoubtedly be felt across the wrestling community. As WWE continues to uphold its standards and values, the situation serves as a reminder that the world of sports entertainment demands not only athleticism and showmanship but also adherence to ethical conduct.

As the wrestling universe grapples with this unexpected turn of events, one thing is certain – the legacy of Scott Steiner will forever be a part of the annals of professional wrestling. Though the circumstances of his exit are disappointing, the WWE Universe will continue to rally behind the stars who uphold the spirit of competition and sportsmanship that define the industry.

Match #1: Rob Van Dam vs. Edge | One on One | Intercontinental Championship Tournament Quarter-Finals :fourstar:
With Scott Steiner fired and vacating the IC title, a tournament has been created by Vince McMahon to crown a new champion. The six members of the intercontinental championship division: Bret Hart, Edge, Kane, Randy Orton, Rob Van Dam and Shawn Michaels will compete in a single elimination competition. Shawn and Bret as the elder statesmen have been given byes to the semi-finals so RVD and Edge will compete first tonight with Orton and Kane facing each other next week. RVD and Edge put on a good show in the opener but RVD was able to get the victory after hitting a pair of Five Star Frog Splashes on the Hardcore Champion, to advance to the next round to face Bret Hart.

Match #2: Kevin Nash vs. Road Dogg | One on One :threehalfstar:
One half of the New Age Outlaws, Road Dogg, took on one half of the tag team champs nWo, Kevin Nash in this singles matchup. Road Dogg was giving Kevin Nash an ass whooping early on to the point where Nash had to roll out of the ring to get a breather. On the outside he attempted to chokeslam Road Dogg but that was countered. Road Dogg whipped Nash back into the ring and the nWo member went for the Big Boot but Road Dogg slipped under it and rolled him up for the victory. Afterwards an embarrassed Kevin Nash tried to cheap shot Road Dogg from behind while he was celebrating, but Road Dogg dodged it and then punched Nash out of the rings, furthering his humiliation.

Match #3: Booker T vs. Faarooq | One on One | Hardcore Championship #1 Contender's Match :threestar:
The Hardcore Championship is typically just defended in one offs, but with Edge's recent impressive run with the belt, WWE decided to have a #1 contender's match for the next shot at it to raise its profile. Faarooq put up a good fight against Booker in this one, using his strength to keep the more athletic Booker grounded. But when Booker was able to counter a Dominator and hit him with the Axe Kick and then a Scissor Kick, it was simply too much for the APA leader as he was pinned to the mat. Booker's celebration was cut short though when Edge came out with a kendo stick and started assaulting him with it. He then stood over the laid out Booker T, and stated, "Nobody is taking this title from me, especially not you Booker. I may have lost my shot at the IC title earlier tonight, but that only makes me want to hold onto this one tighter. I will make you bleed, I will make you feel pain, and you will go home from Halloween Havoc in three weeks, with nothing.:

Match #4: Kurt Angle vs. Bret "The Hitman" Hart | One on One :fourstar:
This was a technical showcase between two of the best ring generals in the WWE. Bret Hart got out to a hot start, outwitting Angle and even managing to lock him in the Sharpshooter early which the American Nightmare was able to break out of. Angle then was able to get on the offensive when action spilled to the outside of the ring and he caught Bret by surprise with an Angle Slam on the outside. He rolled Hart back into the ring but only got a two count so the match continued. Angle had the momentum now but Bret was able to counter an Ankle Lock into a last gasp effort at a Sharpshooter, but Angle escaped that one as well. Angle tried to go for the Angle slam when he popped back up but Bret countered it and hit him with a Piledriver to knock Angle out cold and get the win. After the match Eddie Guerrero came out and spoke, "Hey Angle, rough loss ese. But you know, Bret's more focused on the IC title so I guess you have nothing to worry about. But I was thinking. If Bret can beat you in a non-title match, maybe I, Latino Heat, can beat you for the real thing. Why don't we find out at Halloween Havoc huh, homes?" Angle didn't say anything he just raised the US title up and stared a hole in his challenger, but it was clear from that he would accept this challenge from Guerrero.

Main Event: Brock Lesnar vs. Batista l One on One :fourstar:
Batista still hasn't gotten over losing the Undisputed Championship a couple months back and wanted a shot at Lesnar to prove he's still the top dog in the WWE. That didn't happen. Batista definitely held his own early on, but his momentum was cut short when he went for the Batista Bomb way too early. Lesnar didn't even let him pick him up, then used his shoulder strength to send him flying. He then picked up Batista and hit him with THREE powerbombs before tossing him out of the ring. Lesnar then F-5'd Batista on the outside and rolled back in the ring waiting for the 10 count. Batista only let it get to 9 though before rolling in, but he was badly hurt and his defiance only served to piss off the champ. Lesnar hit him with another ruthless F-5 to pin him and get the victory. After the match, Hulk Hogan (no longer a member of nWo) of all people showed up on the ramp and applauded before speaking, "Real impressive Brock, seriously, to beat Batista like that? It's unheard of. You know, around here they call you "The Next Big Thing." And I agree, you are the future of this business, but guess what kid, I may be the past, but as long as I'm still about to lace up these boots, eat my Wheaties and shine up these 22 inch pythons this is still MY company. So tell you what, brother, if you really are next up why don't you put that title on the line against me at Halloween Havoc?" Brock walked down the ramp to get face to face with Hogan and reached out a hand appearing to be shaking on a match, but he pulled Hogan in and hit him with an F-5 before grabbing the mic himself and saying, "Nah old man, you're not worth my time," before walking backstage with Hogan in a heap on the ground.

Match #1: Kurt Angle (c) vs. Eddie Guerrero | One on One | United States Championship :threehalfstar:
Kurt Angle started off hot in his title defense, taking Eddie Guerrero to task with a series of slams and technical moves. But things made a turn when Eddie Guerrero was able to counter Angle's attempt at the trio of German Suplexes into a Tres Amigos of his own. Guerrero didn't get the pin off that but kept the pressure on, and eventually went for the Frog Splash. Angle was able to roll out of the way at the last second though an lock Guerrero into an Ankle Lock. It looked like Eddie was going to tap but then Rey Mysterio wearing an lWo shirt came to the side of the ring, he distracted the referee while another superstar wearing an lWo shirt, Santos Escobar, smacked Angle across the face with a steel chair. Guerrero rolled up Angle and the ref returned from being distracted by Mysterio to count to three and give Eddie the victory and United States Championship.

Match #2: D-Generation X vs. New World Order (c) | One on One :twohalfstar:
With the New Age Outlaws out of commission with injury, their former stable mates and leaders, Triple H and Shawn Michaels, reformed D-Generation X to take on the New World Order for the World Tag Team Championships. Hall and Nash made this a dirty match in the beginning, taking the action to the outside where they could use the ring apron, barricade and steel steps to brutalize their opponents. But when action returned to the ring and was between HBK and Scott Hall, the tide started to shift in DX's favor. HBK was dominating Hall, eventually hitting him with a Sweet Chin Music and going for the pin. Nash broke it up but got a pedigree from HHH for his efforts. Shawn Michaels returned to Hall who tried to hit him with the Outsider's Edge, but Michael's slipped out of it, and caught Hall with a second Sweet Chin Music. With Kevin Nash out of commission there was nobody to break up the pin this time as DX won the tag titles.

Match #3: Booker T vs. Edge (c) | Extreme Rules | Hardcore Championship :fourhalfstar:
Booker T and Edge tore the house down in this one. Both men using every weapon available to try to put their opponent out of commission. Booker looked set to become the new Hardcore Champion after hitting Edge with an Axe Kick outside the ring and then hitting the Book End, but Edge was able to get his hand on the ropes to break up the pinfall. A frustrated Booker grabbed a chair and slammed it on the ground, begging Edge to get up. Edge rose but just before Booker could blast him, Lita entered the ring and got in between the two of them, preventing Booker from striking. Edge took advantage of the diversion to poke Booker in the eye, who them stumbled around the ring aimlessly and in pain. He stumbled his way right into a vicious Spear and a three count as the Ultimate Opportunist retained the Hardcore Championship once again.

Match #4: Rob Van Dam vs. Randy Orton | One on One | Intercontinental Championship :fourhalfstar:
After RVD and Orton had beaten legend Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in the semi-finals of the IC Championship tournament, they were set to take on each other for the vacant belt. Orton was looking for his 6th reign with the title while RVD was going for his first. RVD was all over Orton early, so Orton tried to take the action outside of the ring. That was a mistake. RVD is a former king of hardcore in ECW and knew how to use the environment to his advantage. He hit a Rolling Thunder on Orton and then a Five Star Frog Splash from the ring to the outside. It took too long to roll Orton back into the ring though so he only got a two count. Orton almost hit RVD with the RKO later in the matchup to even the odds but Van Dam countered it, pushing Orton over and rolling him up. Orton wasn't able to break loose and ended up getting pinned as RVD won his first Intercontinental Championship and Orton was left to seethe in the ring.

Main Event: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Hulk Hogan l One on One | Undisputed Championship :fourstar:
Brock looked to make short work of Hogan, who came running at him early on in the match only to get flattened with an F-5. Hogan miraculously kicked out at 2.5, surprising The Beast. Brock started stomping on Hulk but then he started to Hulk Up and got up and hit Brock with a series of punches. He then hit Brock with a Powerslam and was about to go for the Leg Drop when he got distracted by Paul Heyman. That momentary lapse was a big mistake as Brock took advantage and German Suplexed Brock from behind before hitting him with an F-5 to get the pinfall victory. After the match, Brock wasn't satisfied with just the win, he wanted to DESTROY Hulk Hogan. He cleared off the announce table and F-5'd the Hulkster through the table, leaving him crumpled in a heap as emergency medical services rushed out to put him on a stretcher. But Brock still wasn't done. He came back and pulled Hogan off the stretcher and F-5'd him AGAIN, this time effectively breaking him in half and likely putting an end to the career of Hogan.
