Ruthless Aggression | A WWE Universe
Having tons of fun with it now. The brand split has really helped make shows shorter and easier to write updates for, but also lets me feel like I can focus on more guys (have 6 feuds going on at a time --- 3 per show). Think I've found my groove with this chise again

December 2004 | Week 4 | RAW
Jinder Mahal and JBL faced off for a shot at becoming number one contender for the United States Championship. JBL was running over Jinder in the match and was about to put him away with a Clothesline from Hell after a Powerbomb, but Cody Rhodes rushed the ring. He laid out JBL with a blow to the face before hitting both competitors with a Cross Rhodes. Rhodes then stated they don't need a #1 contender match because he's already decided he wants to put an end to Jinder at ECW One Night Stand. In an EXTREME RULES match for the championship belt.

The Outsiders faced a rag tag, but formidable team of Stone Cold and The Boogeyman in a tune up match before their World Tag Team Championship bout at One Night Stand. They looked intent on conserving energy and to do that they took Stone Cold to the outside and double teamed him. Boogeyman looked disinterested in helping Austin, so Nash and Hall pounded away at the Texas Rattlesnake to their hearts' content. Austin couldn't make it back into the ring as Nash slid inside and Hall kept him occupied as they won a cheap victory by count-out. Their celebrations would be cut short though when DX rushed the ring post match and cleaned their clocks with the tag title belts before standing over them as the show cut to commercial.

Booker T and Orton faced off in a non-title bout, heading into their official match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton had no interest in fighting fair. He attacked Booker from behind during his entrance, sending him hurling into the steel steps arm first, causing a lot of damage to Booker's right arm. The match started and Booker was actually able to stay in control for most of it, even hitting the Axe Kick on Orton. But a sly Orton rolled out of the ring before he could be pinned. Booker started to try to brawl with Orton on the outside, continuing to press his advantage but Orton again used a trick. He hid behind the announce girl, Lillian Garcia, preventing Booker from attacking him so Booker backed off. That moment of hesitation cost him as Orton hit the RKO on him and then slid back into the ring to win by count out. As soon as the bell rang he grabbed a steel chair and started wailing away at Booker's bad arm with it, injuring him even further. Will Booker even be able to compete at One Night Stand in this condition?

December 2004 | Week 4 | Smackdown!
Chad Gable attacked Bret Hart before the match slamming him into the steel steps. Hart still had to face the young upstart Ziggler. Dolph looked to capitalize immediately on the fact that Hart was already hurt going right at the veteran superstar. He took control of the match from the get-go and locked Hart into a sleeper hold but Bret was able to escape. It was then Bret's turn to get on the offensive. He started to outmaneuver Dolph and then with some wiliness was able to lock him into the Sharpshooter. Luckily for Ziggler he was close enough to the ropes to break the hold. Bret was hurt and needed to end the match soon with a tag title match looming Sunday at One Night Stand, so he went for another Sharpshooter. Ziggler countered it though, kicking Hart in the face before getting to his feet and hitting him with the Zig Zag. He went for the pin but Hart kicked out. A frustrated Ziggler kept pressing though and when Bret got to his feet he nailed him with a vicious Superkick and covered him for a statement win. After the match, Gable came back out to attack Bret again but this time was thwarted by Jim Neidhart.

Rob Van Dam called out Drew McIntyre for his blindside attack on him last week and demanded he come to the ring and face him right now in a non-title match so he could teach him a lesson. Things did not go according to plan for RVD at all. Drew came down to the ring alright, but RVD did not teach him a lesson. Drew brutalized the Intercontinental Champion with his superior strength, and he seemed to be even quicker than Van Dam as well, outmaneuvering him and dodging several of his high flying moves. The end would come when Drew hit Van Dam with the Future Shock DDT on the outside of the ring then rolled him back into the ring. Drew ran full speed at RVD and hit him with a Claymore that knocked his lights out before pinning him for the win. He wasn't done though. He went to get a chair to victimize RVD with but before he could land a blow, Kurt Angle ran into the ring and grabbed the chair, taking it away and telling him to calm down. Drew started to walk away but then bounced off the ropes and hit Angle with a Claymore as well. He then grabbed a microphone and said, "Ok Rob, I'll do what Kurt asked and I won't hit you with this chair right now. But I'm certainly going to hit you with one on Sunday because I challenge you to an EXTREME RULES match on your home turf at ECW One Night Stand for that Intercontinental Championship. See you there."

With Brock Lesnar having beaten AJ, Cena wanted to prove he was on his level by doing the same. Cena was having a lot more trouble with AJ than Brock was, simply just not able to keep up with Styles dynamic offense. He nearly lost early after Styles hit him with the Styles Clash but was able to get a leg on the ropes to prevent the pinfall. Things turned went AJ got a little overzealous and went for a springboard Phenomenal Forearm from the inside of the ring to the outside and Cena ducked out of the way. Cena then hit Styles with a powerslam and then the F-U on the steel steps leaving AJ virtually broken. He crawled back into the ring and let the referee count to ten giving him the count out victory over Styles and proving he could also beat him like Lesnar had done a week ago, albeit not as cleanly. The high from that was shortlived though as Brock attacked Cena from behind with a kendo stick and then just started laying into him with it as the crowd booed before standing with the stick raised high above his head to close out the show heading into the most extreme event of the year.

December 2004 | PPV | ECW One Night Stand
This was a competitive match between two technically proficient teams, one old school and one new school. Alpha Academy came in confident after the attack on Bret Hart from Friday. They were able to win the matchup after a long bout when Shelton Benjamin as the non-legal man, hit Bret with the Paydirt and then superkicked Neidhart, allowing Gable to hit the O'Connor Roll German Suplex on Bret Hart to get a major statement win to open the show and retain the tag titles.

Cody Rhodes made relatively quick work of Jinder who he'd gotten the better of the last few weeks. He dropped Mahal on his head outside the ring and then rolled him back into the ring for the Cross Rhodes to retain the US title.

Randy Orton and Booker T put on a show in this match but Orton had a clear advantage with the injuries he'd inflicted on Booker in prior weeks. Booker managed to hit the Scissor Kick early but Orton was able to kick out at two. Later, Booker rolled Orton back into the ring and followed him in but got hit with an RKO out of nowhere. Orton wasn't done there though as he lined Booker up for a Punt Kick to knock him out cold and retain the title, while slaying a WCW legend in the process to add to his Legend Killer resume.

The Outsiders gave DX all they could handle here, using their superior size to physically dominate their opponents. Despite them controlling the majority of the match though, DX ultimately took control after using weapons to their advantage. Later, HHH tossed Nash out of the ring then hit Scott Hall with a Pedigree, but didn't go for the cover. Instead HBK started tuning up the band and leveled Hall with a Sweet Chin Music to keep the tag titles with D-Generation X.

Rob Van Dam was nursing an injury but still looked to put on a good fight here to defend his title. He tried to use weapons early on and even went for a way-too-early Five Star Frog Splash, but missed it. From there it was all Drew. He brutalized the champ and put him away by hitting him with a Future Shock DDT followed by a Claymore to win his first ever title in WWE in dominant fashion, the Intercontinental Championship.

Brock Lesnar physically dominated Cena right out of the gate, hitting him with several suplexes and powerbombs before going for the F-5. It looked like it was going to be an easy win but Cena kicked out at two to Lesnar's bewilderment. He continued pressing the advantage, then hoisted Cena up for another F-5 and Cena... kicked out again. This left Lesnar infuriated and he lost his focus which allowed Cena to get back into the matchup. Not long later it was Cena's turn to hit his finisher, but the F-U was only enough to keep Brock down for two. Cena then tried to win by escaping the cage but Brock got back up and picked him off the steel cage wall and onto his shoulders. He hit Cena with a third F-5, but STILL Cena refused to be beaten and kicked out. This time, Brock looked to break Cena to retain his title. He locked him in the excruciatingly painful Brock Lock, and Cena screamed and writhed in pain as he was eventually forced to tap out in the center of the ring as The Beast retained the WWE Championship.

Smackdown! Acquires Stone Cold in Free Agency

HARTFORD, CT --- Smackdown! just leveled up, bigtime! Sources can confirm that Stone Cold Steve Austin's contract on Monday Night RAW has run out and he has elected to join the Smackdown! brand. Austin cited a desire to pursue the original WWE Championship as a major reason for the move, and surely the Texas Rattlesnake will go after Brock Lesnar's title as soon as he gets the opportunity.

Tag Team Divisions Scrapped as RAW, Smackdown! Reintroduce Women's, Light Heavyweight Titles

HARTFORD, CT --- The WWE and World Tag Team Championships on Smackdown! and RAW respectively are no more. Vince McMahon has never been a major proponent of tag team wrestling, and ordered both RAW's GM, Eric Bischoff and Smackdown!'s GM, Paul Heyman to dissolve their titles and fire any superstars who were deemed unfit to continue forwards as singles stars. As a result, major roster cuts have been made with RAW's World Tag Team Champions DX being split up along with Smackdown's World Tag Team Champions Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin among other tag team wrestlers. However for Benjamin in particular, this does not mark the end of his run with the company. Vince authorized both GMs to introduce new singles belts to their shows. Eric Bischoff has brought back the Women's Championship and built a new 6-woman division around the belt with Beth Phoenix, Chyna, Jacqueline, Lita, Stacy Keibler and Trish Stratus. Paul Heyman has reintroduced the WWE Light Heavyweight Championship, and this division will feature Eddie Guerrero, The Hurricane, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Shelton Benjamin and X-Pac.
Following these changes and the previous announcement about Stone Cold, here is how the RAW and Smackdown! rosters look going into the new year with the Royal Rumble just four weeks away:

To open up RAW, Eric Bischoff announced that four of his new Women's division signings would be facing off in a tag team match, with the winning team earning the right to face each other at the Royal Rumble for the vacant Women's title. All four women were former champions in their own right and had an equal claim to the belt. Despite this, Jacqueline and Chyna got into an argument over who should start the match. All four of these women really wanted this win and they put on an absolute showcase of the potential of women's wrestling with aerial attacks, speed and unique moves being the name of the game. As the match came near its end, Jacqueline was one on one in the ring with Trish. Chyna snuck around to the other side of the ring and pulled Lita off the apron before kicking her in the head to take her out. She then rolled into the ring and hit a Pedigree on an unsuspecting Stratus, who was then covered by Jacqueline to win the match and make Jacqueline and Chyna the new #1 contenders for the Women's Championship. The two celebrated their win together, but will things remain cordial given they are now rivals for the belt?

Umaga burst into Bischoff's office yelling crazily and demanded a match for the a title. He stated that he has been overlooked and wants a shot to prove he's one of the top guys in the company. Bischoff obliged and told Umaga to head out to the ring, and that he'd get a shot at the United States Championship. Not only that, the US Champion would be fired from RAW if he could get the victory. Umaga waited patiently in the ring until Cody Rhodes' music started blaring from the speakers. The two proceeded to absolutely go to war. Umaga hit Rhodes with a huge Samoan Drop on the outside and then went for the Samoan Spike to win it but Rhodes ducked out of the way and hit him with a Cody Cutter for a two count. Later, the two would brawl on the outside again, which ended with a Cross Rhodes, but Cody couldn't move Umaga's lifeless corpse back into the ring quickly enough. This gave Umaga time to recover and when he did get back in the ring, he popped back up and eviscerated Rhodes with the Samoan Spike out of nowhere to get the cover and a massive victory. After the match, a dejected Cody Rhodes clapped off the fans who cheered for him as he exited the company no longer a champion.

Shawn Michaels, he was recently forced to break away from his tag team DX with Triple H was given a golden opportunity in the main event to take on Shinsuke Nakamura to become the number one contender for Randy Orton's World Heavyweight Championship. Nakamura has previously beaten Orton for the Intercontinental Championship, so he was eager to get a chance to try and beat him again for a bigger prize. These two had very similar flamboyant styles that almost seemed to cancel each other out. Nakamura looked to have it won when he hit Michaels with a Michinoku Driver and then a Kinshasa but HBK somehow got his arm up to grab the ropes before the three count. This pissed off Nakamura and he lost focus, raging and complaining before trying to set up a second Kinshasa. This time HBK dodged and Nakamura went flying leg first into the turnbuckle. HBK then hit a Diving Elbow Drop and then his patented Sweet Chin Music to knock Shinsuke out cold and win the match. After the bell rang, Randy Orton slid into the ring from behind HBK and looked ready to pounce with the RKO but stopped himself and let HBK turn around, who was shocked to see him there. Orton smiled slyly as he stared down his next opponent. The mind games have already begun.
