Gotta knock down those free throws, my guy
More than just free throws, that game just wasn't his night. Dame & Kemba made light work of the rook
And yet the squad still only loss by three. The team stats were pretty tight. Make those five free throws you missed, Kings win by two. Everybody should be running laps in practice after this.

Those 2 points in that last game literally made all the difference for the Kings.

Let’s push for .500

mvp, Their meh. Not really into the gradient. Man's consistency has been up and down in SacTown. But still providing a hefty contribution.

DEATH OF BOBBY CREEK, BIRTH OF THE O.G. PT.1

It was 9 A.M., Bobby had just completed his intense intermittent sprint session he started at 6 A.M. Even on a rest day, if there was time to put in self-work, Bobby was tuned in. Always the one thinking to be faster, stronger, endure longer. After injuries in Taiwan, Bobby wasn't missing no meals or workouts reinforce his durability. But after last night's performance, this was more so punishment, and he wanted nothing more than to redeem that.

"You're gonna kill yourself, Bobby." Mack implied after examining Bobby on his walkway. "Come on in, I'll get you some water."

"Thanks..."

-Bobby enters Mack's home, dripping and drenched in sweat, catching a Essentia bottle from his trainer-

"Thanks, man. You don't have one cold?"

"So you can cramp up on my white carpet? Thanks, but no thanks."

"Okay, fair point." Bobby huffs.

"So, what brings you this way?"

"Nothing really, just training in the neighborhood. Some cardio never hurts."

"Look like you're about to die to say the least. How long you've been running?"

"Since 6 A.M., give or take."

"Fucking xhrist, Bobby. You just had a game last night and you have one tomorrow. You ever rest?"

"I know Mack, I know. I just feel like a total failure after last night's game, along with my game in Chicago. Feel like I need to do more."

"Yeah, do more, not run your legs off your hips." Mack rebutted. "Listen, nobody said your job was going to be a cake walk. There's going to be days like those, you just got to put it behind you and move on to the next one. No hero ball, kiddo. What you think this is? 2K?"

"I'm just trying to secure my job. Seen how Portland shipped me out after Scoot Henderson made his comeback."

"Yeah, you got it tough in your position, even if the NBA is now a positionless league. But you just got to play your part, your time will come."

"Your right, I just need to be patient, I guess." Bobby shrugs.

"You're a class act, I tell you. It's an 82-game season, you're already at the halfway mark. I doubt the Kings will make any changes for you. Think you got a really solid spot on the roster. May have to play behind two other guards, but I think they can make it work for you."

"I hope so. I won't lie, I love it here in Sacramento. Haven't been back here since I was a kid. Mom used to take me to visit her Mom when she was alive. Family BBQs, holiday festivities, and all that."

"Yeah, I can relate to that. It's just something about Sacramento, the culture here is different. Not a whole 180 like San Francisco, but the roots here is always welcoming."

-In the midst of the conversation, Bobby's phone goes off-

"Hey, it's my coach, mind if I take this?"

"I'm not going to tell you no to your boss."

"Such an asshole, I swear." Bobby joked. "Hey Coach! What's up?"

[Hey Bobby, good morning. Are you free this afternoon?]

"Yeah, I'm free. We're having a team meeting or something?"

[No, no. Would like for you to meet me at my office so we can talk.]

"Oh, alright. I'll be there this afternoon then, between 1 and 2."

[Great, see you soon.]

-The tone of Coach Brown's voice sounded a bit too serious for Bobby's liking, having him ponder what the concern of the matter is to be-

"Everything's good?" Mack asked.

"I'll be soon to find out. Said he wanted to see me at his office this afternoon."

"Maybe it's good news. Probably getting some more minutes to play?"

"Maybe." Bobby cynically responded. "But hey, I got to get going. Want to freshen up before I head over."

"Alright, kiddo. Remember, take it easy, it's a long season."

"I'll try Mack, thanks for the water. See you later."

-A few hours has passed since the call, Bobby was able to get some brunch and a shower in before heading to meet Coach Brown. The thought of what Coach had to talk about weighed on his mind with every passing moment, but he couldn't allow himself to give into those negative doubts-

-Knock, knock- "Hey Coach, wanted to see me?"

"Hey Bobby, come on in. How are you?"

-Bobby shakes Coach Brown's hand before taking a seat- "I'm good, I'm good. Ready for tomorrow. All's well with yourself?"

"Couldn't be better. Alive for another day, can't ask for more than that."

"Amen to that." Bobby agreed. "So, what's up? Said you wanted to talk."

"Yeah. Look, I don't know no other way to sell it to you, so I'm going to give it to you straight."

"Okay, I like straight forwardness."

"You're getting bumped down." Coach Brown says with a sort of serious tone."

"Bumped down? Like to what? Bench warmer or something?"

"No, G-League."

"Oh... That kind of bump."

"Yeah. We got word that De'Aaron Fox is coming back sooner than we anticipated, and there's just not enough minutes to go around. I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what? Don't be, it's just business at the end of the day. But G-League?"

"Afraid so, buddy. But look, you'll still be under contract with us. We can call you up given the need. If anything, utilize the time in the G-League to improve your game, show us more than what you've been capable of."

"But I'm only signed for the season. Who's not to stop y'all from just riding out the contract?"

"Well, that's just the nature of the business, it happens, but you still get paid nonetheless. You still play affiliated basketball for the Kings."

"Yeah, just in Stockton."

"Could be at a recreational park instead." Brown lightly rebutted. "With Fox back in the fold, there's just no room right now. But while you're still under contract with us, we still expect you to play at a high level and produce quality games."

"I guess I don't have a choice... Stockton, huh? Okay, Stockton it is, then."

"See this as a new opportunity. Prove yourself, show us something to talk about, so I can think highly of you during the summer. Because I really like you, Creek. Size, athleticism, you don't waste shots, you have an already incredible upside, just time for you to fully bring it out."

"So what you're saying is, to stop being a team player and be a leader?"

"Not quite, don't cross that line where your teammates think indifferent of you, team basketball is the culture here. Just, take control of your narrative."

-A brief moment of silence filled the room as Bobby mulled over the information handed to him. His next stop was to stockton. The G-League-

"Alright, Coach. You got it. My mission is clear."

"Sounds good. Your first game will be on the 15th against the Osceola Magic. You'll have your hands full as they're the top team in the G-League, not having lost ten games yet. But no pressure. It'll be your first game, just go out there and get your feet wet with your new team and do your thing. Know that I'll be watching."

"Yes sir." Bobby complied as he stood up. "Though short-lived, thanks for the opportunity here. I do look forward to coming back."

-Coach Brown extends his hand, shaking Bobby's-

"It's been a pleasure and I look forward to seeing you back in Sacramento uniform. Until then, I wish you good luck."

"Thank you. I'll be seeing you, Coach."

Bobby makes his way out the office, bearing the news as he texted his agent about it. Falling to the G-League was a bit of a blow to Bobby's morale. But Mike Brown held some truth in his wisdom, realizing Stockton is a far better playground than a park on the streets. With whatever opportunities he had left in the season, Bobby had plans to make the best of them.
