The Los Angeles Lakers are one win away from returning to the Western Conference Finals. After defeating the Rockets 115-106 and taking a commanding 3-0 series lead the Lakers are eyeing a trip back to where they were swept two years ago. Trae Young led the Lakers with 29 points and dished out 12 assists. LeBron James and Anthony Davis both scored 23 points each with Buddy Hield, who has showed out in these playoffs, finished with 14 points and Max Christie added 12 points and seven assists. Fred VanVleet led the Rockets with 23 points, hitting 9-of-16 shots from the field. Jalen Green scored 21 points and handed out seven assists. The Lakers built a thirteen-point lead to end the first quarter, 34-21, but the Rockets responded in the second quarter cutting the Lakers lead down to two at the half, 57-55. The Lakers outscored the Rockets by seven in the second half. Houston will have a huge mountain to climb as no team in NBA has ever come back to win a series when down 3-0.

Lakers returning to the Western Conference Finals

The Los Angeles Lakers are going back to the Western Conference Finals following a 114-109 victory over the Rockets, completing the sweep in the Western Conference Semifinals matchup. LeBron James led the Lakers with 28 points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block. James hit 12-of-14 shots from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Trae Young scored 27 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out eight assists and was efficient from the field, hitting 9-of-15 shots. Anthony Davis finished with 20 points, 18 rebounds, two assists and five blocks. Buddy Hield finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Fred VanVleet led the Rockets with a game-high 31 points on 12-of-26 shots from the field. Jalen Green scored 22 points and dished out five assists. Alperen Sengun had a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds.
