Pittsburgh's Eli Holstein becomes school's first Heisman Trophy winner since Tony Dorsett
Jessica West -- SI.com
Pittsburgh quarterback and former Alabama transfer Eli Holstein became the second Pittsburgh Panther to win the coveted Heisman Trophy, edging out NC State's Grayson McCall and Michigan's Alex Orji.
Holstein is the third straight transfer quarterback to win the award, joining Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. Holstein is the fifth transfer to win the award in the past seven years with Alabama's Bryce Young and Devonta Smith being the outliers since 2017.
In his first season as a starter, Holstein threw 35 touchdowns to just six interceptions while completing 72 percent of his passes for 2,856 yards. Holstein rushed for 601 yards and seven touchdowns, leading the Panthers to a 6-6 record.

Jerome Singleton scheduled to interview with Colorado, New Mexico State following bowl game
Doug Dunning -- 247 Sports South Alabama Insider
South Alabama defensive coordinator Jerome Singleton has been granted approval from South Alabama to interview with New Mexico State and Colorado following the team's bowl game against Bowling Green.
It's unclear at this time if Colorado, where head coach Deion Sanders recently resigned following a 4-8 season, is interviewing Singleton for the head coaching vacancy or as an assistant. New Mexico State is expected to interview Singleton for the head coaching role, as first reported by Daily Breeze.
Singleton, 32, does have previous head coaching experience at the high school level, leading Inglewood High School (Inglewood, Ca.) to a 36-3 record before accepting the defensive coordinator job at South Alabama earlier this year.
In his first season with the Jaguars, Singleton coordinated the top defense in the Sun Belt, allowing just 26 points to LSU in the near upset.
