Game 5 Preview: vs Buffalo (2-2, 1-0)
After a disappointment offensive output, the Huskies look to bounce back against the Buffalo Bulls. The Bulls are coming off a comeback win, 34-31, over Northern Illinois.
Buffalo is fueled by its dual-threat magician, QB CJ Ogbonna, so the Huskies will have to remain cognizant of the run potential, as well as the pass. Look for the Huskies game plan to revolve heavily around edge containments and QB spy assignments from the linebacker and safety positions.

Offensive struggles continue, Huskies downed by Buffalo in low scoring affair, 16-13
EAST HARTFORD, CT — Two missed field goals, including a last second potential game-tying attempt, sealed UConn's fate as they have now dropped three in a row to complete the hat trick of losses – this time to the Buffalo Bulls.
"It was pouring out there," said coach Jim Mora of the missed kick. "Maybe we should have gone for it at the end there, but I still have confidence in my guys."
It was the second straight week without an offensive score, as the lone Connecticut touchdown came by the hands of edge rusher Julien Simon, who picked off a throw to the flats and took it back to the house for 44 yards and six points.
Nick Evers barely eclipsed 200 yards passing on 57% and also committed a fumble, one he recovered himself. The rushing game also struggled, almost non-existent, as the Bulls held UConn to just 2.4 yards per rush.

For Buffalo, it was an old-fashioned (pre-historic even?) game plan of relying on stout defense and a heavy dosage of running. In fact the team ran the ball 37 times for 205 yards, compared to just 20 pass attempts.
The Bulls got a standout performance from freshman rusher Lamar Sperling, who put Buffalo on the board first with a 58-yard rushing touchdown.
CJ Ogbonna was a very efficient 14-of-20 passing, but the Husky defense allowed just 106 yards through the air. The team recorded four sacks on the dual-threat signal-caller.
One of those sacks came by standout nose tackle and impact player Jelani Stafford. However, Stafford exited the game early with an apparent chest injury, adding to the drama surrounding the current state of the team.
Next week, the Huskies at home, facing off with the Temple Owls.
