Derailed Huskies' meltdown continues, toss six picks in rout, lose to Wake Forest 62-3
EAST HARTFORD, CT — Jim Mora's time as the Connecticut Huskies head coach very well could be over after a 59-point loss to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in a game following a bye week.
Nick Evers threw a pair of interceptions and fumbled twice before being plucked for senior Joe Fagnano. After a handful of incompletions and a turnover himself, coach Mora called on freshman Tucker McDonald to take the rest of the snaps. He didn't fare much better.
While the Demon Deacons hung 62 points, it was their defense that created the momentum, scoring multiple touchdowns in the first half, prior to the onslaught later brought on by the offense.

"I mean, look at the crowd," Mora noted. "There's no one here, and I don't blame them. I wouldn't show up to watch these lousy performances either. We just have to improve and get our confidence up."
Sorry coach, but there isn't a sliver of confidence when watching this team.
Next week, UConn faces off with Rice.

Did Evers throw 3 or 2. Story and box score differs.
Regardless you gotta get that run game going.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
All is not lost on Huskies, adds pair of three-star recruits to 2025 recruiting class
While this week (and season) didn't pan out on the field for UConn, the Huskies received verbals from their top two targeted recruits in defensive lineman Derek Brutus and interior offensive lineman George Anger.
Brutus, a 6-5, 290-pound interior defender, also projects as a possible edge rusher, given his height and athletic ability to rush the passer. This would give the Huskies a much needed boost in pressuring the opposing quarterback.
On the flip side, Anger is an interior offensive lineman, hailing from New Jersey. He ranks as the No. 10 left guard in the country, but can play either side of the ball. At 6-1, 290-pounds, Anger projects to help create some much needed space in the rush game.
This news comes on the heels of one-star defensive lineman Trent O'Neil's verbal commitment to the Huskies a few weeks back, further adding to the firepower being recruited in the trenches.
