Temple struggles to get anything done on offense, drops to 1-4

Temple #12 Evan Simon had a long day behind center, getting sacked six times in three quarters

Week 5
September 28, 2024 | Lincoln Financial Field | Philadelphia, PA

-----------------------------------------------
ARMY (3-1) | 0 | 3 | 0 | 13 || 16
TEM (1-4) | 3 | 0 | 3 | 0 || 6
-----------------------------------------------

Scoring Summary

First Quarter
5:32 Dante Atton, 40 yd FG (TEM)

Second Quarter
1:40 Anderson Britton, 47 yd FG (ARMY)

Third Quarter
6:20 Dante Atton, 32 yd FG (TEM)

Fourth Quarter
8:35 Tyrell Robinson, 7 yd run (2-point conversion failed) (ARMY)
7:12 Brett Gerena, returned interception 33 yds (ARMY)

-----------------------------------

Besides Forrest Brock, everyone at Temple must be absolutely disgusted by the team's performance today. Evan Simon had a poor game today, struggling to complete any passes while being sacked six times through three quarters before being benched. Redshirt freshman Tyler Douglas got a couple drives to showcase his talents, but it was quickly abrupted by a pick six from middle linebacker Brett Gerena early in the fourth.

It was a defensive battle for most of the game until Army finally opened the flood gates in the fourth quarter with a touchdown from slot back Tyrell Robinson. Following that possession, the pick six happened and Army mostly had control of the ball for the rest of the game.

"We need to fix this ASAP," Temple coach Anderius Hawkins told the media regarding his team's performance. "We made several adjustments to the offense, and it didn't pan out especially on the offensive line. Giving up six sacks is unacceptable. We'll continue experimenting during practice this upcoming week."

Offensive lineman Kevin Terry better find somewhere safe to sleep tonight. He was credited with giving up three of Temple's six sacks today and has mostly likely won a one way ticket to China.

The game you had circled to start the year and the offense didn't show up. UConn might be the easiest game left, you need a win next week.

I agree, I think Brock needs to come back. He’s the least scrub of all the scrubs in that qb room…

Curious to see how u fare vs UConn

It's a must win for sure. Idk if this team can turn around this mess if they can't get a win this game

I owe Brock an apology. Simon fooled me with that Coastal Carolina game. We'll see how the next game play out at QB
