Yes
I wouldn't get that carried away although I do think we make the playoffs. The schedule toughens up after the bye week with Louisville and Florida State in back to back weeks. I'm not sure how much success we'll have against teams that are able to shut down the running game and tackle well on the underneath stuff

Miami's recruiting class continues to take shape with three more commitments as 4-star RB Maurice Rugamba jumps onboard
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider
Miami's coaching staff believe that Maurice Rugamba has the potential to be a big time running back at the Power 4 level and if that does pan out, he'll be doing it in Orange and Green.
Rugamba was one of three four-star prospects to commit to the Hurricanes this week along with receiver Eric Incoom and offensive tackle Richard Cookus.
The Hurricanes are very familiar with Rugamba who they've been recruiting for three years now, dating back to when he was current Miami running back Mark Fletcher's backup at American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida. The coaching staff's long history with Rugamba, even with a new running back coach, aided them in their recruitment of Rugamba, keeping him away from Florida and Florida State. Ole Miss and Nebraska were also involved in the recruitment of the six-foot, 232-pound bruiser.
Blocking for Rugamba at the next level will hopefully be Cookus, the 12th ranked tackle prospect in this cycle which gives Miami a pair of top fifteen tackles in this recruiting class, joining George Robledo who committed to Miami a few weeks ago.
Cookus is more of a project than Robledo as he'll need to get in a college strength and conditioning program as well as nutrition in order to get his body ready to play at the Power 4 level. The Hurricanes have the luxury of bringing both Cookus and Robledo along slowly with plenty of depth at the position with Markel Bell and Samson Okunlola as potential replacements for next season once Jalen Rivers moves on to the next level.
Eric Incoom might be the most electric player of Miami's recruiting class with the potential to be the next Xavier Restrepo with some added juice. Incoom is similarly built to Restrepo at five-foot-nine and 204-pounds with more of a running back frame coming out of the slot. While Incoom doesn't have the length you would want from an outside receiver, he has played it for Blanche Ely at the high school level along with running back.
In other recruiting news, Miami made the top three for two five-stars in cornerback Kyrie Ebiketie and edge rusher Walt Coffey. Ebiketie has Alabama, Georgia and Miami in their top three while for Alabama's Coffey, it's down to Auburn, Clemson and the Hurricanes.

I was actually just listing Miami first for all of them since it's pretty fluid right now. I'll drop updates with the actual orders soon but yeah, should be a really good class IF we're able to hold on to Kyrie now that Georgia and Alabama are making strong pushesCaptain Canada wrote: ↑31 Aug 2024, 17:03Recruiting class shaping up to be elite. ‣ CFB 2024 Regular Season, Week 6 - California Memorial Stadium, Berkeley, California
(5-0, 1-0 ACC) #15 Miami Hurricanes at California Golden Bears (1-3, 0-1 ACC)
MIA | 7 | 14 | 7 | 3 | 31
CAL | 0 | 3 | 0 | 14 | 17
Golden Bears make it respectable with late touchdowns but Hurricanes continue dominant run
The pundits that will come through Miami's schedule and resume with a fine tooth comb will definitely come away with some fair analysis that the Hurricanes haven't faced the toughest road to an undefeated season and a tricky cross country trip to welcome Cal to the ACC was aided by the fact that the Golden Bears were without their top player in running back Jaydn Ott.
None of that matters to Miami's players, coaches and fans as the Hurricanes head into their bye week undefeated following a 31-17 win over Cal in a game that was much more one-sided than the score reflected.
The Golden Bears scored two touchdowns in the final six minutes while Miami was called for four penalties on their last three drives which negated first downs that might have helped the Hurricanes ice the game away.
For much of the game, it was a dominant performance from the Hurricanes on both sides of the ball with Damien Martinez rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown while Mark Fletcher rushed for 89 yards. Freshman running back Jordan Lyle added 32 yards on the ground as the Hurricanes rushed for 253 yards as a team, topping the 200-yard mark as a team for the third consecutive game.
With no Ott, Cal's running game was nowhere to be found as Kadarius Calloway was held to 2.1 yards per carry with nineteen of his twenty-one yards coming after contact. The Hurricanes swarmed Cal's backfield with Francisco Mauigoa and Reuben Bain Jr. recording three tackles for loss. Bain also had a sack, as did Elijah Alston and Marlon Cook with the 300-pounder leaping over an attempted cut block and sacking Cal's Chandler Rogers.
Rogers threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns, most of it coming in the fourth quarter.

Georgia snags nation's top ranked corner Kyrie Ebiketie with surprise commitment
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider
Miami's trip back from Berkeley just got a little sour as five-star cornerback Kyrie Ebiketie has shut down his recruitment with a commitment to the University of Georgia, cancelling his upcoming official visit to the Hurricanes and Alabama.
Ebiketie was the top name on Miami's recruiting board as they were hopeful to help revamp their secondary with an influx of talent but instead, Ebiketie joins a long line of elite cornerback prospects to heads to Athens.
Miami had a similar situation last year with IMG Academy's Ellis Robinson IV, the number two ranked player in the country who the Hurricanes tried all year to flip from Georgia but ultimately decided to stick with the Bulldogs. The Hurricanes staff aren't expected to take a similar approach with Ebiketie and instead pivot to other prospects.
Safety target Denzel Major also committed elsewhere, pledging to Alabama while defensive tackle Tim McCracken is opting for the Florida Gators.
