Jody would have gotten the work too
feels like we're playing with fire the last few games, can't always rely on things like a punt return TD and a pick six

Examining Miami's path to the College Football Playoffs and beyond
Manny Ledo -- The Miami Herald Sports Columnist
If the season ended today, the Miami Hurricanes would finish the regular season with their highest ranked poll ranking in over two decades and for the first time in program history, make the College Football Playoffs.
Ironically, it would also entail the Hurricanes failing to once again make the ACC Championship Game as Clemson currently holds the tiebreaker due to their record against common opponents, beating Louisville which is Miami's only loss of the season. Miami's chances of getting over this tie breaker is bleak as Clemson's only loss -- NC State -- isn't on Miami's schedule and the Tigers have only one remaining ACC game on the schedule and its this week against the Pittsburgh Panthers while Miami's on a bye.
Boston College, the current top seed in the ACC with an undefeated conference record, could still stumble with three remaining ACC games against SMU, North Carolina and Pittsburgh with a trip to Dallas this weekend to take on the Mustangs. The only problem is that the Eagles also have a win over Louisville so Miami would need them to lose two of their last three remaining games.
This is all independent of Miami themselves taking care of business coming off their bye week with Wake Forest next week at home and a road trip to Syracuse which was a layup heading into the season but now a top 25 matchup.
If the ACC standings hold with Clemson and Boston College heading to Charlotte, it's not the worse case scenario for the Hurricanes as they would slide in at the seventh seed, hosting Colorado in the first round of the playoffs in what would be a fun matchup against Deion, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders and one of college football's best players in Travis Hunter. It'll be murderer's row after that though with the current CFP bracket projecting the winner of that game to play Alabama, and should they survive, play either Michigan, NC State or Utah.
Boston College, meanwhile, should they win the ACC, would have a first round bye and play the winner of Toledo and Clemson before facing off against either Oregon, Washington or Ole Miss.

Ocala defensive tackle Rico Veasy, who originally picked UF, commits to Miami
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider
Trinity Catholic senior defensive tackle Rico Veasy announced Thursday night that he has committed to the Miami Hurricanes.
It's a win on multiple fronts for Miami who were able to flip Veasy from his earlier commitment to rival Florida and beat out ACC foes Florida State, Louisville, and Wake Forest for his commitment once he opened his recruitment back.
This is a big time loss for Billy Napier's staff as Veasy is right on the cusp of being a five-star prospect as the 38th ranked player this cycle and the fourth ranked player in the state and at his position. He would have been the Gators' highest ranked commit for a class that is currently ranked behind Vanderbilt and South Carolina while Miami's class continues to grow stronger and battle it out with Georgia for the top ranked class with Georgia now ranked number one following the commitment of another five-star in defensive end Emmanuel Mayo.
Miami adds another quick-twitched, pass rushing defensive tackle in Veasy who joins similar prospects in five-star Kevin Yeboah and four-star Dan Mintze. When you turn on the tape, Veasy's motor immediately stands out as he is a high energy, high intensity force from the interior with the ability to play all three positions on the inside from nose, three-technique and five-technique in an odd-man front.
With Veasy's commitment, Miami has now signed three of the top seven players in the state of Florida in five-star linebacker James Fernandez, Veasy and four-star linebacker Jacques Turk.
The Hurricanes aren't done on the trail as they'll be hosting top-100 cornerback Paul Webb and IMG Academy safety LaMarcus Cook this weekend on official visits. Webb is down to Miami, Clemson and South Carolina while Alabama, Ole Miss and Ohio State round out Cook's top five list, which he released earlier this month. The Canes will be pushing hard for a commitment from both who have visits lined up through the rest of the month.
