Miami secures first commitment of the 2027 class with Bishop Gorman OL John Armah
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider
Miami has landed the first member of the 2027 recruiting class with four-star guard John Armah committing to the Hurricanes over USC.
Armah is the 12th ranked guard prospect and was on campus this past weekend to watch the Miami Hurricanes take on Boise State in what ended up being a dissapointing loss. The Bishop Gorman product was a frequent visitor of Miami for the past year, camping twice at Miami and getting down to Coral Gables as often as he can.
He's a bit undersized at six-foot-two and 299 pounds but Miami likes his feet and tenacity in the running game.

yeah, still adjusting to the Georgia Tech playbook. Not a lot of quick game being suggested there besides some screens which is where two of the pick sixes came from as the outside receiver left his guy unblocked and he jumped the screen.

Interesting to see Chrishon McCray at ND. He is on Kent State and is in the red as a potential transfer for me this year. How are his stats?

Yeah I forgot about him being there last year. He's good. Hope I can keep him around if I stay. Or bring him with me if I don't

‣ CFB 2026 Regular Season, Week 3 - Notre Dame Stadium, Notre Dame, Indiana
(2-1, 0-0 ACC) #12 Miami Hurricanes at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2-2)
MIA | 7 | 17 | 0 | 3 | 27
ND | 0 | 7 | 3 | 0 | 10
Miami Hurricanes march into Notre Dame Stadium and come out with 27-10 win over Notre Dame
With their back against the wall following a sluggish win against South Carolina and an upset loss at home to Boise State, Mario Cristobal wasn't going to make any drastic changes to his personnel. Instead, Miami got back to the basics against Notre Dame and ran the Irish out of their own stadium, surrendering just one special teams touchdown and running for over 200 hundred yards in a 27-10 win over rival Notre Dame.
It was a house of nightmares for quarterback Kenny Minchey who was intercepted three times in the first quarter and finished the game with five interceptions. Notre Dame's offense never reached the endzone, scoring on a punt return, despite 124 yards rushing from running back Kedren Young.
The Hurricanes' longest pass of the day was a fifteen yard completion to freshman Davon Momah, who scored a few plays later on a touchdown pass from quarterback Emory Williams who got the start. Williams wasn't asked to do much, completing fifteen passes for 94 yards as Miami leaned on its running game. True freshman Keke Hagg was used sparingly, converting a third down with a six-yard completion and threw the ball just once more on a screen pass.
Running back Mark Fletcher rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown with true freshman Deron Tryon being used as a closer with injuries to Jordan Lyle and Maurice Rugamba, rushing for 42 yards.
