New England gets back on track offensively in blowout win over hapless Browns
A home game against a one-win team with a rookie quarterback is sometimes all you need to get right. The Cleveland Browns were just what the doctor ordered for Drake Maye and the New England Patriots as they put an end to their two-game skid with a 37-17 win over Cleveland on Sunday.
Maye ran for two touchdowns and threw for three in his first career game with over 100 yards rushing. He also threw for 289 yards with two touchdowns going to Cooper Kupp who is third in the NFL with five receiving touchdowns.
New England's defense went seven quarters, dating back to last week, without allowing a touchdown as they intercepted rookie quarterback Cam Ward twice in the red zone. Ward would throw a late touchdown pass to David Njoku who led the game with seven receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Patriots hold off Buccaneers rally thanks to goal line stop
Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just kept hanging around, aided by Rachaad White's two touchdowns in the third quarter after trailing by eighteen points in the second half. A few timely stops from their defense and a 52-yard field goal from Chase McLaughlin and the Buccaneers had the ball on New England's four yard line with two minutes left in the game and a chance to make it a three-point game with a touchdown and a two-point conversion.
The Bucs would be forced to settle for a field goal and were unable to stop New England's running game that ran off runs of eighteen, ten and nineteen yards to seal the 34-26 victory.
On first and goal from the four-yard line, Mayfield's next two passes would go incomplete and on third and goal, Mayfield would be stopped at the three-yard line and Tampa would make the interesting decision to kick a field goal instead of going for it.
Mayfield finished the day with 290 yards on 66 percent completion but zero touchdowns compared to Drake Maye who only threw for 202 yards but had four touchdowns. Maye also ran for 82 yards as part of a 282 rushing yard performance from the Patriots running game. Antonio Gibson led the way with 104 yards and Rhamondre Stevenson added 96 yards.
