Five-star receiver Max North, one of Florida's fastest, commits to hometown Hurricanes
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider

The Miami Hurricanes have scored a huge victory on the recruiting trail with the commitment of Max North, the explosive five-star wide receiver out of West Palm Beach, FL.

Standing tall at 6-foot-6 and weighing 201 pounds, North is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2028 recruiting class and is widely recognized as one of the fastest players in Florida. This commitment represents a major win for head coach Mario Cristobal and his staff, who continue to build a stacked 2028 class with elite talent and game-changing speed as they beat out Florida and UCF on the recruiting trail once more.

A legit track star with comparisons to Usain Bolt with his long strides, North is more than just an athlete with an impressive array of releases in his toolkit. North is a complete receiver and one of the better talents to ever come out of West Palm Beach. He plays with great play strength and is physical at the top of his route with his ability to create separation and is a hassle to take down with his big frame.

With North's commitment, Miami now have two the top five players in the state committed to them, joining receiver Tyler Rattay. The Hurricanes are closing in on IMG receiver Etinosa Ha who is set to visit the Hurricanes in the upcoming weeks. If they're able to land Ha, it would give Miami their best recruiting class by far at the receiver position.

Miami records a key conference win after beating Duke 55-0
The Miami Hurricanes scored a touchdown on special teams, multiple on offense and for good measure, cornerback Robert Stafford returned an interception for a touchdown to complete the cycle in the Hurricanes' 55-0 beatdown of the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday.

The Hurricanes were already leading by a touchdown and on the four yard line when the Hurricanes offense took its first snap, finding Jeremiah Smith very soon for the first of two touchdowns for Smith. It was a short day for Smith who caught five passes for 90 yards, all in the first half. Keke Hagg and the first team offense played a half and the first second half series, going 19 of 29 for 256 yards and three touchdowns.

It wasn't all roses for Miami's offense as Isaac Brown was benched following his first quarter fumble and would fumble again upon his return in the second half. He entered the day as the nation's leading rusher but carried the ball just six times in a limited role that head coach Mario Cristobal confirmed after the game was due to his turnovers.

It was a historic day for the Hurricanes defense that held Duke's offense to 167 yards of total offense with six turnovers and the same amount of sacks allowed, eleven, as first downs.
