June 2024 | DSW | Week 1

Tomahawk Torres is your new DSW World Heavyweight Champion

Match #1: Voodoo vs. Tomahawk Torres | Extreme Rules | DSW World Heavyweight Championship :fourhalfstar:
When it came time to crown the first-ever DSW World Heavyweight Champion, the stakes couldn’t have been higher. Originally planned as a pay-per-view event, the title match was rescheduled for DSW’s first June show due to budget constraints. However, Commissioner Xixak ensured that the match would still deliver, announcing it as an Extreme Rules match to guarantee a definitive finish with no disqualifications or count-outs. Tomahawk Torres, the smallest competitor on the roster, entered the bout as a heavy underdog against the ominous Voodoo. Despite the daunting odds, Torres was determined to make his mark, and from the opening bell, the match erupted into chaos.

The action quickly spilled outside the ring, with both men trading brutal shots and unleashing flurries of offense. Voodoo managed to hit a devastating Sister Abigail on the floor, followed by his signature Mandible Claw, seemingly knocking Torres out cold. But Voodoo’s arrogance got the better of him. Instead of going for the pin, he grabbed a hammer, aiming to put an end to Torres for good. Torres barely evaded the vicious attack, and when they finally returned to the ring, Voodoo attempted the Mandible Claw again.

This time, Torres used his wits, taking a page out of Eddie Guerrero’s playbook by playing possum. Just as Voodoo thought he’d won, Torres surprised him with a quick roll-up. The crowd held its breath, but Voodoo kicked out at two. With both men back on their feet, Voodoo went for his finishing Voodoo Bomb, but Torres had one last trick up his sleeve. He spit a blinding blue mist into Voodoo’s face, stunning him, and followed up with a swift Enzuigiri. With the crowd behind him, Torres climbed to the top rope, delivering a perfect Frog Splash that brought the arena to its feet. The referee counted to three, and Tomahawk Torres was crowned the first-ever DSW World Heavyweight Champion. Against all odds, the smallest man in the company had overcome the monstrous Voodoo, solidifying his place in DSW history and proving that heart and resilience can conquer even the darkest forces.
