‣ CFB 2027 Regular Season Week 11 - Carter Finley Stadium, Raleigh, North Carolina
(8-3, 5-2 ACC) #2 Miami Hurricanes at North Carolina State Wolfpack (7-3, 3-3 ACC)
MIA | 7 | 14 | 3 | 7 | 7 | 38
NCST | 7 | 3 | 11 | 10 | 13 | 44
Mario Cristobal, Keke Hagg under fire following disastrous end in overtime loss to NC State
Despite their best attempts at throwing the game away, the Miami Hurricanes had survived, forcing a turnover on downs with 1:22 left in the game and the ball on NC State's 33-yard line with the Wolfpacks having just two timeouts.
It was Georgia Tech 2023 all over again as Miami fumbled instead of attempting to kneel out the clock, allowing the Wolfpack to force overtime with a ten play drive led by Miami native C.J. Bailey and Keke Hagg would throw his third interception in overtime as the Wolfpack pulled off the 44-38 upset.
Miami led 21-10 at halftime but got outscored 22-10 in the second half as Hagg was nearly sacked and tried to throw the ball away, leading to a pick six by a nearby defensive lineman as the ball slipped out of his hands.
Once in overtime, Miami did strike first with a 21-yard completion to Davon Momah and a four-yard touchdown run by Isaac Brown but the Hurricanes defense would allow back to back touchdowns, first with Steven Moses catching Bailey's third touchdown of the night and then Kendrick Raphael ripped off the 25-yard touchdown to take the lead.
The Hurricanes defense would give Miami a chance to win the game by stopping the extra point but after two incompletions, Hagg would force the ball to Momah and it resulted in an interception by an underneath linebacker.
After the game, Hagg said he anticipated the linebacker vacating the area due to the route concept, as he had done throughout the game.
