Hurricanes easily take care of Georgia Tech to advance to CFP Semifinals
Georgia Tech was no competition for the Miami Hurricanes who jumped out to an early 31-0 lead and cruised to a 38-13 victory over the Yellow Jackets to advance to the College Football Playoffs Semifinals where they will rematch Notre Dame.

Davon Momah had three receiving touchdowns as Keke Hagg threw for 265 yards and five touchdowns in Miami's lopsided win. Miami senior running back Isaac Brown also kept alive his streak of 100-yard games, rushing for 132 yards in a game that Georgia Tech failed to make competitive at any point.

Brown, in his second season with Miami since transferring from Louisville, won the Doak Walker Award for best running back last month and has rushed for over 100 yards in each of his past three games and in nine of the last eleven since being benched for his fumble against Florida Atlantic. He's also approaching Duke Johnson's record for most career rushing yards, needing ninety more yards to break the record.

Miami cornerback Elias Raines tied Damari Brown for most interceptions in a season with his thirteen of the year. Raines won the Thorpe Award and needs two more to tie Ed Reed's record for career interceptions at Miami.

Notre Dame's rally falls short as Hurricanes hold off Fighting Irish to advance to National Championship Game
For the first time in over two decades, the Miami Hurricanes football team will be playing for a national championship as they are one step closer to that elusive sixth title with their 31-23 win over Notre Dame on Monday night.

The Hurricanes jumped out to an early 24-3 lead in the first and then extended it in the third quarter with a 39-yard bomb from Keke Hagg to Davon Momah on a similar play that Notre Dame had intercepted earlier in the game.

The Fighting Irish would put up a fight, scoring three unanswered touchdowns, including Jack Larsen's touchdown with one minute left that made it an eight point game, pending the extra point. Notre Dame head coach Andy Kranchick opted to go for two, giving them the opportunity to win the game with a touchdown should they had recovered the onside kick. Notre Dame failed to do both with their two point conversion failing and Miami recovering the onside kick.

Miami will play Rutgers in the National Championship Game with the Scarlet Knights blowing out BYU to form a former Big East matchup in Arlington, Texas.
