Manchester Begin Rebuild with Sale of Luke Shaw
Luke Shaw has struggled with injury throughout his career at Manchester United
Manchester United have started to rebuild the squad in ten Hag's image by moving out Luke Shaw, a player who has spent 10 year sat the club while making little to no impact. Shaw joins AC Milan for a £37M fee as Tyrell Malacia will be given the keys to the left-back position in the short term with Harry Amass as his backup there.

Martin Zubimendi joins Manchester United for £40M
Zubimendi becomes the first post-clearout signing of the INEOS era
Martin Zubimendi will join Manchester United from Real Sociedad for a £40M fee. The club is firmly behind ten Hag and want to get him players suited to playing the 4-3-3, possession oriented system that he was famous for at Ajax and that got him the United job in the first place. Zubimendi is well suited to the #6 position in the formation, and fittingly will wear the #6 short playing behind Kobbie Mainoo and a yet to be named central midfielder in the middle of the park.

United-Barcelona Make Huge Splash with Fernandes/De Jong Swap
Barcelona and Manchester United have swapped star midfielders
With Barcelona looking for dynamism in midfield and United looking for a controller who can fit neatly into the DLP role in ten Hag's system, a Bruno Fernandes - Frenkie de Jong swap deal seemed like a match made in heaven. United and Barcelona were able to complete the deal with Barca getting an extra £13M in compensation to sweeten the pot. This marks a major shift for United away from the freestyle, counter-attacking play they were used to with Bruno and towards a more methodical, controlled system going forward, reminiscent of ten Hag's style in Holland.

Jadon Sancho joins Arsenal for £45M
Sancho and ten Hag finally get their break up
Sancho has not found favor under ten Hag or at United in general and badly needed a move to a new club to showcase his skills. He gets to return to his home of London with a move to Arsenal, where he figures to slot in as the first choice player on the left wing. United have recouped a decent fee for Sancho but less than the £70M they originally paid to bring the player in from Borussia Dortmund.

Rashford Joins Palace for £36M
The boy wonder leaves his boyhood club, Manchester United.
In a sad development, Marcus Rashford has been forced out of Manchester United, and will join Crystal Palace for £36.4M. It's a major fall from grace for a 26 year old winger who showed so much promise coming through the academy ranks, but a necessary move for a United side looking to rebuild the right way. Rashford was woeful last season and with wages in excess of £300K per week is simply not worth the price of admission. The player takes a humbling moving to Palace and opens up the door for Alejandro Garnacho to make the starting LW position his own. Kobbie Mainoo is expected to be given the #10 shirt with Garnacho taking #7 after his idol Ronaldo.

Victor Lindelof Joins Wolves for £10M
Lindelof leaves after rarely featuring last year.
Victor Lindelof hasn't played much under ten Hag, and with the Swede hoping to get more game time, he has made the switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers for £10M. United do need at least two signings at CB with Harry Maguire also likely on his way out. They want to bring in a starting RCB to allow Yoro to develop behind him and a backup LCB for Lisandro Martinez.

Jorrel Hato Joins United from Ajax for £7.6M
Hato is a talented young LCB with the pace to play LB as needed as well.
United needed a young defender to learn behind Licha Martinez, and who better than a 18 year old Jorrel Hato? The Dutchman will be a great fit for ten Hag's style and possesses a similar small, but skilled frame to the man starting ahead of him. He will be given the #15 shirt and be allowed to develop alongside Leny Yoro off the bench for the club.

Harry Maguire to Newcastle for £13M
Former United captain, Harry Maguire, is on his way to Newcastle.
Maguire simply lacks the pace and technical ability to play ten Hag's system and had to be moved on. Newcastle appear to be a good fit for the player though, where he will slot nicely into Eddie Howe's system as a first choice center-back after the Magpies paid a £13M fee for his services.
