Rangnick, Wittmann to Build "German La Masia" at Ingolstadt

Ralf Rangnick the father of modern German Gegenpressing, wants to revolutionize Ingolstadt as DOF in tandem with Wittmann

FC Ingolstadt want to become home to the best young talents in German football, whether that is producing stars from their own academy, or acquiring U-21 talents from the academies of other clubs. The club plans to, after the end of this season, go all-in on the German-only model but restrict things even further to being fully focused on homegrown German talents. The recent deal for Köhler was the first of those moves, but it's believed that this approach to squad building may be how Ingolstadt continues going forward, after the recent contract demands of Maximilian Beier. Ingolstadt look to build an organic program reminiscent of what Ajax has done in Netherlands. While Ajax's system is centered around the teachings of Johan Cruyff and Total Voetbal, Ingolstadt's will be centered around the teachings of Ralf Rangnick and Gegenpressing. Each player will be trained to fit into clearly defined roles within Wittmann's 4-2-2-2 system as Ingolstadt look to develop a well-oiled German machine moving forwards.
