No. 1 Miami remains unbeaten, topping Florida State 35-14 in rivalry game
A third national championship in a row is what the Miami Hurricanes are seeking but a state championship along the way doesn't hurt.
Bernie Flowers passes for 351 yards with three touchdowns, Aidan Teague ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns and No.1 Miami remained undefeated by beating rival Florida State 35-14 on Saturday to keep their winning streak rolling.
Max North caught a 61-yard touchdown in his return to the endzone, finishing the day with 139 yards receiving on five catches to help the Hurricanes go undefeated in the state of Florida, having already beaten South Florida and Florida before renewing their yearly rivalry with the Seminoles, who joined them in the SEC this season.
The Seminoles fall to 2-4, likely ending any dreams of a postseason appearance in head coach Everrett Withers' second season at the helm of the program. Florida State's offense did seem to get a second wind when backup quarterback Darin Horne entered the game, replacing the injured Jaden Durbin. Horne completed 85 percent of his passes for 210 yards, averaging nearly twice as many yards per completion than Durbin. He threw an interception and rushed for a touchdown.
