‣ NFL 2026 Regular Season Week 7 - MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
(3-3) New England Patriots at New York Jets (2-4)
NE | 0 | 7 | 7 | 10 | 24
NYJ | 7 | 10 | 0 | 0 | 17

Drake Maye rushes for 174 yards as Pats outlast rival Jets on Monday Night
New York Jets defensive lineman Haason Reddick and Quinnen Williams were virtually unblockable in the first half, getting to New England's Drake Maye at will in the first half. Trailing 17-7 and at risk of being swept by their divisional rival, Maye put on his 'do-it-yourself' cape, using his legs to keep multiple drives alive and set up Rhamondre Stevenson's game winning touchdown in New England's 24-17 win over the Jets.
Maye first got it done with his arm, finding the recently acquired Stefon Diggs for a 22-yard completion coming out of the half and then scrambled for eleven yards before back-to-back completions which led to his four-yard touchdown pass to Nyck Harbor to cut the lead to just three points.
Kenny Pickett started the second half equally as hot with consecutive completions of twelve yards to Mike Williams and Garrett Wilson respectively as part of an eight-play drive before rookie Peyton Bowen made a leaping interception on a pass intended for Mike Williams that would have likely resulted in a touchdown.
The most pivotal throw of the game came in the fourth quarter when Maye completed a 24-yard pass to Christian Watson on third and eight to keep New England's drive alive. Maye would go to Diggs at the goal line on third down four plays later but Sauce Gardner would win that matchup, forcing New England to settle for a field goal to tie the game.
New England's defense would continue to hunker down, forcing their third consecutive three-and-out to get the Patriots the ball back with 3:08 remaining. New England leaned on their running game with rushes of eight and seven yards by Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson before Maye used his legs on a scramble to get the ball to the Jets' 34-yard line with 1:24 remaining. Maye would have another scramble of seventeen yards before three straight rushes from Stevenson would result in a touchdown with 28 seconds left in the game.

Drake Maye outduels Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals in Monday Night rout by the Patriots
New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo did not hesitate on fourth and one from New England's own 40-yard line on their very first possession of the game He kept his offense on the field and Antonio Gibson picked up nine yards. Three plays later, Drake Maye found Christian Watson for 27 yards and then culminated the fifteen play drive with a touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs.
It would be the first of six touchdowns thrown by Maye who finally beat the Cincinnati Bengals in his third attempt, routing Joe Burrow and Company 49-28 on Monday night.
The most pivotal portion of the game came in the second quarter when Benjamin St-Juste blocked Evan McPherson's field goal and it was returned for a touchdown by Josh Uche. On the very next play from scrimmage, it was Christian Gonzalez' turn to make a play, jumping the route and intercepting Burrow's pass intended for Tee Higgins. Maye then completed passes to Diggs, Watson and then back to Diggs for the touchdown to begin the rout.
It was a quiet day for Ja'Marr Chase who caught just two passes for sixteen yards despite Burrow's 392 yards passing. He was primarily guarded by Marcus Jones while Higgins drew the matchup with Gonzalez in a competitive duel that Gonzalez got the edge with the interception while Higgins did catch six passes but for just 49 yards, averaging 8.1 yards per reception.
Burrow's primary receivers were Jermaine Burton (10 receptions, 164 yards, touchdown) and Mike Gesicki, who had three touchdowns, including two on busted coverages.
