cant really blame Bernie, he just didn't have the throw power for that last throw. would have been a touchdown if he could have beamed it in but too much air under it allowed the corner to undercut it

Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal clarifies post game comment, provides injury update on Broderick Booker
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider

Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal met with the media on Tuesday for the first time since Saturday's loss to Texas A&M, ending Miami's 42-game winning streak. Cristobal took the opportunity to clarify his comments during the post game press conference, in which he stated:
"We played a sloppy game and there were a couple of tough calls that went against our way. You're in College Stadium, a million folks in the stands so that was expected and we just didn't handle it well."

Cristobal clarified that he wasn't criticizing the officiating, nor suggesting that Texas A&M got favorable calls because they were at home.

"It's a loud environment, probably one of the loudest in the country so that's what I was getting at," Cristobal said on Wednesday, "When [Hard Rock Stadium] is jumping, we certainly have that advantage as well so that's all I was saying, definitely did not mean to bring the integrity of the game into question. We played poorly and that's on us and we have to be better prepared to handle those kind of environments."

Some other takeaways from Wednesday's press availability:

Broderick Booker is back at practice
Freshman running back Broderick Booker is back at practice, according to Cristobal, and is expected to be a full-go in the season finale against Tennessee.

Booker left the game last week with an upper body injury after his first three snaps of the game, all carries that went for seventeen yards. The six-foot, 230-pound running back might have been an asset for the Hurricanes in a game where the offensive line wasn't able to create a ton of creases -- without drawing a flag -- for their more elusive running backs in Aidan Teague, Javier Torrez and Sammy Ramey.

The powerful Booker might have been better suited for that style of a game with his ability to make something out of nothing and generating yards after contact. Booker has the highest broken tackle rate on the team by a wide margin (six percent) and thirty percent of his yards come after contact, the highest on the team as well. His return should provide Miami a boost against Tennessee, especially with the loss of Kaseem Dalton.

'Just win' mentality for the Hurricanes
The Hurricanes can technically make the SEC Championship Game even with a loss to the Volunteers in the final game as they hold the head-to-head tie breaker over third-place Alabama. However, if the Hurricanes do lose, they can get leapfrogged by fourth-place Ole Miss should Ole Miss win their game against Oklahoma, which would trigger a bevy of tie breaker scenarios that could go in the Rebels favor.

Cristobal said the team is not concerned about any of that and just focusing on winning.

"Just win," Cristobal answered when asked about if the team has considered the various scenarios, "It's pretty simple, if you win, you're in, no matter what."

As it currently stands, Miami would play Georgia in the SEC Championship Game with the winner almost certainly locking up a top-two seed while the loser would likely still make the playoffs as a lower seed.

Bernie Flowers to be honored on Senior Day, hinting at early draft entry
Cristobal shared with the media the list of seniors that will be honored on Senior Day and among them was running back Bernie Flowers, the redshirt junior that is academically a senior and set to graduate this winter.

Flowers, who is listed at five-foot-eleven on UM's roster, has generated some draft buzz with his play this season and could get drafted if teams are willing to overlook his lack of size at under six-feet and just 190-pounds. In his first full year as a starter, he's averaging 250 passing yards per game with twenty-five touchdowns and has rushed for 40 yards per game.

Other redshirt juniors that were on the list include center John Armah, outside linebacker David Vallos, cornerbacks Adrian McCune and Jason Wall and safety Max Hakim.

I’ve been told the tiebreaker in the game is alphabetical order so even if you do choke, you might get in :troll:
