Just playing on Heisman. No sliders yet but I might want to turn up defensive pass coverage. My QB was airing it out :obama: We'll see how it goes against Ole Miss first.

Yeah losing out on Barion Brown is a tragedy. I can't blame him though I mean he transferred to LSU so

Stellato impressed me in that one. I think we've got some really good receivers. Calzada is what worries me as the defenses are going to get better.

Mark Stoops' Future at Kentucky Hinges on SEC Showdowns Ahead

Image

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky kicked off the 2025 season with a solid 26-14 win over Toledo, offering a much-needed morale boost after an underwhelming 2024 campaign. Quarterback Zach Calzada was sharp, finishing 25-of-31 for 377 yards and 3 touchdowns in a performance that gave Big Blue Nation a glimpse of what this offense could be.

But while the win provides early optimism, the pressure on head coach Mark Stoops is far from lifted.

Now in his 13th full season at the helm, Stoops has built a level of stability the program hadn’t seen in decades. But with expectations climbing and the SEC only getting stronger, moral victories and non-conference wins aren't enough to secure long-term job security. And next up? A major litmus test.

No. 15 Ole Miss rolls into Lexington this weekend, the first of many SEC battles that could determine whether Stoops is still on the Kentucky sideline in 2026. The Wildcats’ fanbase is eager for a breakout season, but if Stoops can't turn early momentum into results against ranked SEC foes, his tenure may be nearing its final chapter.

Simply put: the margin for error is razor-thin. And the real season starts now.
