ksuowls.com
KENNESAW, Ga. -- The Owls will be heading to Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. for the 11th Annual StaffDNA Cure Bowl, accepting the invitation to play Mid-American Conference runner-up Western Michigan on Friday, December 19th at 12 p.m. Eastern Time.
Kennesaw State is making its first appearance in a bowl game in its second season as a member of the FBS.
"We are incredibly honored to accept an invitation to the 11th annual Cure Bowl in Orlando," said Athletic Director Milton Overton. "We are excited to compete on a national stage and proud to support the Cure Bowl's meaningful mission in the fight against cancer. I know our team, fans and alumni will have a great time and create some unforgettable memories in this prestigious event."
The Owls will have an opportunity to earn the program's first ever bowl win along with finish with a winning record for the first time since 2021.
"I'm proud of our players for the work they've put in this season," said Kennesaw State Football Coach Bubba Mack. "We're very excited about the opportunity to showcase Kennesaw State football in front of a national audience at the Cure Bowl."

Chris Brazzell II Wins Heisman After Record-Breaking Season for Tennessee
Jessica West -- SI.com
In a season defined by clutch catches and consistent dominance, Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II has been named the 2025 Heisman Trophy winner, becoming the first wideout to win the award since DeVonta Smith in 2020. Brazzell’s electrifying campaign saw him haul in 144 receptions for 1,670 yards and 11 touchdowns, rewriting the Volunteers’ record books and captivating the college football world.
While Tennessee fell just short of the College Football Playoff, finishing 10-3 and ranked 12th after a narrow loss to Texas in the SEC Championship Game, Brazzell’s brilliance could not be overlooked. The Vols missed out on the final playoff spot due to the automatic Group of Five bid awarded to Boise State, but voters unanimously agreed Brazzell’s individual excellence transcended his team’s playoff hopes.
Southern Miss quarterback Braylon Braxton finished second in Heisman voting, with teammate Joey Aguilar coming in third. Both posted stellar numbers, but Brazzell's historic season — especially at a position rarely recognized by voters — proved too special to ignore.

Players to Watch
HB Jalen Buckley (R-Jr) | 5'11″, 210lbs | 89 OVR, 87 SPD, 90 ACC, 88 BTK, 91 TRK
‣ The Broncos leading rusher has eighteen touchdowns on the season and could be due for another big outing. He's rushed for over 100 yards in five consecutive game and has reached that mark in eight of his last nine games. He's also scored a touchdown in all but one game this year and could pose problems for a Kennesaw State defense that has struggled throughout the season against physical running back.
WR Christian Leary (R-Sr) | 5′10″, 180lbs | 79 OVR, 93 SPD, 95 ACC, 86 CTH
‣ The Orlando native will look to end his career in front of his hometown and hopefully end his season long touchdown drought. It's been a long road for Leary who started at Alabama, transferred to Georgia Tech before ending up at Western Michigan where he's had his most productive season. He'll get to go against a Second Team All-American in Kennesaw State's Jerico Washington Jr.
S Tate Hallock (R-Sr) | 6′4″, 210lbs | 82 OVR, 83 SPD, 87 ACC, 83 MCV, 76 ZCV, 72 TKL
‣ The All-American and Thorpe Award winner is the tone setter for the Broncos, leading the way with eighty-six tackles. His speed doesn't jump out but he isn't a slouch in coverage either with three interceptions and nine pass breakups. The Owls would be smart to identify Hallock before every play and do their best to steer clear.

Kennesaw State signs second smallest class in the conference at Early National Signing Day
Keke Hagg
Dec 6, 2025, 7:36 AM ET
KENNESAW, Ga. -- Five players signed with Kennesaw State during the Early Signing Period this past week, including latest commitment edge rusher George Imatorbhebhe out of Moultrie, Georgia.
Kennesaw State's five signees represented the second lowest number in Conference USA with Sam Houston signing four players while Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State also signed five players. By comparison, FIU led the way with fifteen signees while conference champion Liberty had ten signees.
The Owls do have the third highest amount of three-stars signed with all but one of their players being four stars while some of the conference's bigger classes, such as FIU, don't have a single three-star. Head coach Bubba Mack seems to be prioritizing quality over quantity, focusing on higher upside players such as Imatorbhebhe instead of depth pieces and projects.
Despite being undersized at 227 pounds, Imatorbhebhe is a violent pass rusher that plays much bigger than his size. The raw potential is there for Imatorbhebhe to be an incredibly disruptive pass rusher down the road while his raw athleticism should allow him to see the field pretty early.
Mack was unable to close the deal with top prospect Legend Ojeda, the top ranked player they offered this cycle. The three-star left tackle out of Warner Robins ended up signing with the University of South Florida.
