🏈 Virginia Tech 2026 Recruiting Class Report
Virginia Tech’s 2026 recruiting class is rapidly taking shape, blending high-end star talent with developmental prospects across all three phases of the game. The Hokies continue to expand both their local footprint and national reach, adding impact players in the trenches, skill positions, and secondary.

New Impact Additions

Derek Carr – 4⭐ LEDG, 6’6”/244 lbs
National Rank: 117 | State Rank (IA): 1 | Positional Rank (LEDG): 15
Hometown: Eldridge, IA
Carr is a rare, high-ceiling left-end prospect with elite length and pass-rush potential. Ranked as the top player in Iowa, his combination of size, speed, and power makes him an immediate candidate to compete on the edge and contribute as a freshman.

George Feeny – 4⭐ DT, 6’3”/303 lbs
National Rank: 329 | State Rank (AR): 3 | Positional Rank (DT): 22
Hometown: Fayetteville, AR
Feeny strengthens the interior defensive line with his size, strength, and ability to disrupt plays in the backfield. A powerful run defender with quick hands, he projects as a multi-year contributor who can anchor Tech’s front four.

Terrelle Carswell – 4⭐ REDG, 6’4”/243 lbs
National Rank: 377 | State Rank (VA): 14 | Positional Rank (REDG): 31
Hometown: Highland Springs, VA
Carswell is a versatile right-end prospect who combines athleticism with a high motor. He brings both pass-rush ability and run-stopping instincts to the edge, adding depth and flexibility to Virginia Tech’s defensive front.

Gideon Fumagali – 3⭐ ATH, 6’3”/208 lbs
National Rank: 555 | State Rank (VA): 21 | Positional Rank (ATH): 98
Hometown: Virginia Beach, VA
Fumagali is a multi-purpose athlete who can line up in the backfield or on the perimeter. His size and athleticism allow him to contribute as a receiver, rusher, or defensive back, giving Tech valuable roster versatility.

Trent LaRocque – 3⭐ TE, 6’6”/228 lbs
National Rank: 587 | State Rank (DE): 2 | Positional Rank (TE): 25
Hometown: Smyrna, DE
LaRocque is a long, athletic tight end with the frame to develop into a red-zone target and a key blocker in the run game. His combination of height, hands, and mobility gives Tech a potential mismatch weapon.

Bruce Carver – 3⭐ CB, 5’10”/174 lbs
National Rank: 1197 | State Rank (NC): 38 | Positional Rank (CB): 91
Hometown: Matthews, NC
Carver brings depth to the secondary as a nimble cornerback with solid ball skills. While still developing physically, his quickness and instincts make him a reliable rotational option in coverage.
Dom Tonyan – 4⭐ SS, 6’0”/202 lbs

National Rank: 94 | State Rank (MD): 2 | Positional Rank (SS): 2
Hometown: Baltimore, MD
Tonyan headlines the class as a top-100 national prospect and one of the most coveted safeties in the country. His combination of physicality and coverage instincts gives Tech a potential defensive cornerstone. A versatile defender who thrives both in the box and in space, Tonyan could be on the field from Day 1 in Blacksburg.

Connor Dell – 4⭐ HB, 6’1”/196 lbs

National Rank: 348 | State Rank (MD): 5 | Positional Rank (HB): 50
Hometown: Baltimore, MD
The second Baltimore native in the Hokies’ class, Dell brings speed and versatility to the backfield. A slashing runner with good hands out of the backfield, he fits seamlessly into Tech’s modern spread attack. His combination of burst and size gives the Hokies another dynamic option to build around in the run game.

Kasey Mentor – 3⭐ QB, 6’3”/206 lbs

National Rank: 603 | State Rank (FL): 65 | Positional Rank (QB): 39
Hometown: The Villages, FL
Mentor provides the Hokies with a developmental quarterback who has the size and arm talent to grow into the system. While still refining his decision-making and consistency, Mentor flashes a live arm and athletic ability that make him an intriguing long-term project behind center.

Alex Stacy – 3⭐ LT, 6’6”/307 lbs

National Rank: 752 | State Rank (NC): 21 | Positional Rank (OT): 67
Hometown: Greensboro, NC
Stacy is a prototypical tackle prospect with long arms and a powerful frame. He shows the raw strength to move defenders in the run game while still polishing his pass protection technique. With physical upside and room to grow, Stacy projects as a long-term starter candidate in the trenches.

Yeah I’m not excited, they also have the favourite for defensive player. The year award at edge in my line is honestly not the best starting to get hammered by wear and tear so I’ve had a few guys rotate in and out the last couple of games so this should be interesting. I need wrangle to actually start connecting on some deep passes because Stewart is really getting habit by where in town I’m trying to write him out for the last two games of the season. If I managed to get further Overton is gonna have to get a lot more carries.
