BRONCOS RELEASE THEIR TOP-35 BIG BOARD FOR THE 2031 RECRUITING CLASS

Boise State has finished with a Top-25 Recruiting Class in 5 straight seasons with Coach Miller on staff including the last 3 with Miller as Head Coach.. Despite the Broncos success, Miller has struggled landing high school recruits especially during the in-season recruiting portal, making most of his moves in the Off-season and finding alot of his success via the transfer portal... Bronco fans hope this year will be different.

Boise State has traditionally been built with Blue Collar 3* talent including Miller himself but with 3 straight Pac-12 Championships and back to back National Championships 5* Recruits including last year's #1 RB Brian Crum are starting to see Boise State not just a regional powerhouse but a national program that can help launch their NFL careers.

This year's Top-35 board features (9) 5* Recruits including the #1 RB in the nation for a 2nd straight year as well as (2) 5* QB's who could have a chance to be 4 year starters depending on what Tua Draft's plans are at the end of the season.

Last season BSU graduated it's Top-5 CB's and currently have Senior transfer Larry Halapio holding down the #1 CB job.

BSU has 4 CB's listed on this years Top-35 board including 2 5* recruits in the Top-15 in the nation.

5* Roland Finely (#9/#1 CA/#3 CB) currently holds the Top spot on the Big Board as the highest rated recruit nationally. The 6'1 204lb DB from Corona CA has BSU currently listed as his #1 school but he has Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, and Clemson all still in his Top-5 and all 4 are offering scholarships.

5* QB Ben Cherry comes in at #2..(Ranked #10 Overall/#1 MN/#2 QB) Cherry could be the the next great Bronco QB. Boise State has won back to back titles with transfer QB's but is it time for a Bronco recruit to follow in Kellen Moore's footsteps as a 4 year starter? Listed at 6'2 22lbs from Minneapolis MN, Cherry has plenty of schools looking to secure his services including the Gophers who would love to keep the local kid at home but Boise's biggest challenge will likely be Nebraska who has quickly moved up to #2 ahead of TCU and Minnesota on Cherry's Top-5 list.

Despite already having Brian Crum on the roster and a very young RB room,, that hasn't stopped 5* Dom Waller (#11 Overall/#1 UT/#1 RB) from announcing Boise State as his #1 choice. Waller like his best friend Crum is the Utah Gatorade POY and the #1 RB in this year's class and despite playing at rival schools in Utah well playing the same position built a friendship instead of a rivalry.. Now the combo wants to play together. But that won't stop other Pac-12 schools from trying to breakup this deadly combo.. USC, UCLA, Cal and Stanford have already offered and are lining up late visits well Waller will be in Boise this week for the Broncos matchup with FIU.

BRONCOS EXTEND HOME WINNING STREAK TO 25

Boise State is one of just 2 schools that own 30+ home winning streaks with a streak of 31 games from 2001-2005 and a 35 game streak from 2006-2011. Now the Broncos are looking to make history and become the only school to own (3) streaks of 30 or more with their loss dating back to the 2026 season losing to Oregon.

That kind of extra pressure on a visiting team can sometimes be to much and it showed tonight as Boise State picks up it's 2nd home win of the season over FIU in Week 4. The Panthers came into the game averaging over 40 points per game in their first 3 games of the season but that Offense was no existent tonight as the Panthers manage just a pair of FG's midway through the 2nd Quarter finishing the game with just 242 yds of Total Offense including just 56 yds on the ground.. Starting QB Andre Odenigbo (75 Ovr) was 10/19 for 128 yds in the first half throwing a INT and getting sacked 3 times before exiting with a injury leaving RS FR Martin Brink (62 ovr) to play the 2nd half Brink's struggles were even worse as he too is sacked 3 times and well also throwing a INT well completing 8/16 pass's for just 58 yds.

The Bronco Offense was quiet in the 1st half as they settle for a trio of FG's leading just (16-6) at the half but the Offense explodes in the 3rd Quarter as BSU scores 3 times to extend the lead to (37-6) and then again in the 4th scoring 3 more times including the the final 2 scores by the Bronco 2nd team Offense.

With the conclusion of the First 5 Weeks of the season, we now take a look at the updated Top-25 Rankings.

Oklahoma's (5-0) start has the Sooners sitting in the #1 spot.. Oklahoma is coming off a (63-24) win over Cal in Week 5 and will play at #18 TCU in Week 6 as they start the bulk of their Big 12 schedule.

#2 Clemson falls this week to #18 Oregon (31-21) as they close out their non-conference schedule. The Tigers now (4-1) drop to #13 as they enter ACC play.

#3 (4-0) Penn State moves up to #2 despite having a Week 5 "Bye". The Lions actually have back to back "Bye's" and won't return to action until Week 7.

#4 (4-0) Miami moves to #3 also despite being on their "Bye" Week. The Hurricanes will host Hawaii in Week 6.

Boise State moves back to #4 despite being on their Bye Week.. The Broncos return to action this week hosting Stanford.

HEISMAN TALK
Keilan Bettis had entered the Heisman talk but after not playing in Week 5 we take a look at the Top-5 which is dominated by QB's.

Oklahoma's Lee Gooch sits in the #1 spot.. A 4 year starter for the Sooners has passed for over 3000 yds and 30 TD's in each of his last 3 seasons including last year when he threw for 3737 yds with 40 TD and 8 INT. This year Gooch is off to a solid start with 1309 yds and 18 TD and just 1 INT.. He is also a player maker with his feet.. Last season he finished just 68 yds shy of a 1000 yd season (932yds) with 16 TD. So far this year in his first 5 games he has 274 yds and 6 scores.

Alabama's SR David Cooke is #2. Cooke is in his 3rd year starting for the Tide. He has passed for over 9000 yds and thrown 77 TD's the past 2 seasons and so far his year has 1507 yds with 13 TD and 2 INT

Utah's Earl Brady is #3.. Brady is in his first year starting for the Utes but has put up a solid season so far with 1509 yds with 16 TD and 2 INT

Pitt's Darrelle Ojabo is #4.. Like Brady Ojabo is in his first year starting and is the only Junior of the group. Ojabo has thrown for 1460 yds with 12 TD and 1 INT well also rushing for 208 yds with 2 TD.

Syracuse Malik Woods like Cook is in his 3rd year starting for the Orange. In the past Woods has been INT prone throwing 26 INT's to 37 TD's the past 2 seasons but this year Woods has just thrown 2 INT compared to 18 TD's well throwing for 1911 yds

Yeah I was pretty bummed I might try and play him in the playoffs though as I would like to take advantage of at least playing him 4 games., but yeah Whitted and Boykins are more the capable of getting me 100-150 yds and a couple scores and the WR room is loaded so Draft is more the capable of carrying the offense

Well I have 20 Seniors and 13 open scholarships at the moment, so I went ahead and loaded up the full 35 this year.. The past 2 seasons I have struggled to land more then 5 guy's during the in-season recruiting, so my wanted to keep more guy's on my radar that had Boise State in their Top-3 and especially guy's who had us #1.. Those guy's are my focus.. I am hoping I can at least 15-20 High school players and then fill in with Portal guy's for positions I am weak at.. We will see. I might need to change up my targets and jus try and build the program like Boise Sate does in real life. 3* guy's who get overlooked by the big schools.

BRONCOS MAKE IT #26 AS THEY MOVE TO 5-0

GAME RECAP

Boise State fresh off their "Bye" week extended their home winning streak to 26 games and moved to (5-0) Overall and (1-0) in Pac-12 play this week with a win over the (1-3) Stanford Cardinals but the win came at a pretty big cost.

With True Freshman Brian Crum on the IR Redshirt Freshman Jason Whitted has taken over as RB1 and so far he has played pretty well recording 107 yds and 2 TD in the Broncos win over Auburn in Week 3 and rushing for 50 yds and 2 more scores in the Broncos win over FIU.

Whitted played well in the 1st half rushing 16 times for 63 yds helping Boise State to a (24-10) lead at the half but on the opening drive of the 2nd half Whitted is hit hard on a HB Draw fumbling the ball in the process but the turnover was the least of Miller's concerns as his RB stayed on the ground screaming in pain. The injury wasn't the first of the game.. BSU had already lost starting Center Branden Chancey (90 Ovr) and RG Tyler Koppen (94 Ovr)

With Whitted out of action, Miller turned to RS SO Jermarcus Boykins. Boykins a former 4* WR turned RB is not stranger to making big plays after posting over 1000 All-purpose yards last season and Boykins delivered again finishing the day with a team high 85 yds on the ground on 16 carries (5.3 avg) to go with 48 yds on 8 receptions on 2 TD's including a 3rd Quarter score to make it (31-14) going into the 4th.

In the 4th Quarter Miller turned to fellow RS SO Randall Amerson. Amerson a former 4* listed at 5'10 199lbs had gotten buried on the depth chart in a very talented RB room but Amerson show why he was a 4* recruit coming out of Lincoln Nebraska as he carries the ball 9 times for 40 yds including a 4th Quarter touchdown as Boise State takes the 2 score lead with under 2 minutes to play.

WEEK 7 TEAM REPORT

INJURY UPDATE

RB Brian Crum (81 ovr)is ahead of schedule and could return to the field in Week 10 which is good news for the Broncos if they choose not to keep Crum limited to the 4 games and keeping his Redshirt season intact.

RB Jason Whitted (84 ovr) injuries consist of a Torn Pectoral and a Fractured Elbow.. Whitted is expected to miss the rest of the 2030 season and the 2031 season (32 weeks).

C Brandon Chancey (90 ovr) has a Parial ACL tear and is expected to miss the next 3 weeks.

RG Tyler Koppen (94 ovr) has a Dislocated Elbow and will miss the next 5 weeks

Mike LB Lorenzo Tiffin (87 ovr) has a Torn Bicep and will miss the next 5 weeks

"I feel for Whitted.. His season and likely the bulk of his career is over.. We as a school will support him every step of the way with his PT and it's our hope that he will return to the team for the 2032 season. I also feel for both Chancey and Koppen.. Both players had NFL buzz last season as mid 3rd to 4th round picks and both players returned with hopes of moving into the 2nd round.. We have some great depth behind them but it's still not the same caliber as 2 future NFL picks"

WHERE IS KEILAN BETTIS TD #'S

People make a came of finding Carmen Santiago or Waldo in the crowd. Many Bronco fan's are wondering where Keilan Bettis has gone inside the redzone. Bettis had a breakout season in 2027 with 104 receptions for 1279 yds and 17 TD's. He bettered those #'s in 2028 with 128 rec for 1808 yds and 21 TD's and then did it again in 2029 finishing with 137 rec for 2459 yds and 29 TD's, setting Boise State, Pac-12 and Naional records.

Well Bettis is off to a strong season once again posting 50 rec in the Broncos first 5 games for 769 yds, he has just 7 TD's and is no pace for his lowest total in his career coming off a Maxwell/Camp/Heisman/Biletnikoff season.. Can Bettis catch fire and repeat his 2029 stats or will 2030 be mistake.

DRAFT FOR HEISMAN

The Heisman talk is loaded with QB talent across the country but 1 QB who is currently absent from the conversation is Boise State QB Tua Draft. After setting a new National record with 6825 yds and 70 TD's in 16 games last season, Draft is on pace to match is yardage season again with 2237 yds in 5 games.. He also has 16 TD and 4 INT so far this season #'s not that far off from his Heisman competition. However many speculate that Draft's lack of rushing stats is what holds him back from being considered in the talk. (22 yds 1 TD)


BOISE LANDS IT'S FIRS SIGNINS OF 2030

Boise State has won back to back National Titles with a roster built around 3* and 4* talent. However because of those wins 5* Recruits are starting to to look at Boise State as a destination especially with the fact that Boise is the only school in the nation to have made the CFP since it's inception in 2024. Today that success has finally paid off.

5* CB Roland Finley (#9 Overall/#1 CA/#3 CB) the California Gatorade POY has officially declared as Boise State beats out Texas and Michigan.
Listed at 6'1 204lbs, Finley has the size and the ability to be the Broncos CB#1 Day 1 next season.

5* RB Dom Waller (#11/#1 UT/#1 RB) is looking to follow in the footsteps of his good friend and former rival Brian Crum.. Like Crum, Waller is Utah's Gatorade POY and the #1 RB in this year's class.
