T'Vondre Sweat heads to IR in early-season blow to Titans defense
The Tennessee Titans have placed defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat on injured reserve Monday after he broke his collarbone in the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

Sweat, 25, will miss six to 10 weeks with the injury. The third-year defensive lineman was a key factor in slowing down Indianapolis’ interior rushing attack in Sunday’s 24-20 win. He forced Jonathan Taylor to bounce runs outside, where the Colts found some success early before Tennessee’s defense adjusted. Sweat also recorded 1.5 sacks in the week one win, helping corral Anthony Richardson who was eventually benched for Kenny Pickett on the final drive of the game.

To fill the roster spot, the Titans elevated defensive lineman Nick Gonzales from their practice squad. Gonzales spent training camp with Tennessee before being waived on roster cut day.
