Five turnovers from the rookie is not a good sign. Any chance you'll consider Rattler at some point or are you pretty sold on giving Shough a long leash?

Honestly, going into this franchise I wanted to stick with Shough for a while, but after this last week, I don't know. Rattler will see the field in Week 4 if Shough struggles next week vs the Seahawks.Captain Canada wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025, 16:55Five turnovers from the rookie is not a good sign. Roster-wise, this should be a much, much easier defense to face for Tyler Shough. However, after 2 straight home games to start his career, he goes to perhaps the harshest environment possible in Seattle. Thankfully, the Seahawks are missing 4 starters on defense due to injuries, including star defensive tackle Leonard Williams and breakout rookie safety Nick Emmanwori. After losing Brandin Cooks early last week, we're looking for 2nd year receiver DeVaughn Vele to have an impact in the slot. Vele is a huge slot receiver (6'5), but has great hands (89 cth. 85 cit) and decent enough speed. He's a fun mix of X receiver build, and slot receiver skills. We're going to have to find a way to slow JSN down, as he's leading the league in receptions (14) and receiving yards (282) through two weeks. I don't love the matchup 1v1 with any of our corners, so expect to see a lot of zone coverage in this game.

Only 63 yards for Olave through two games? Gotta fix that with the quickness.

Madden 26 Saints Franchise Week 3
New Orleans Saints 31-26 Seattle Seahawks
Despite going 17/23 for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns against the 12th man in Seattle, Saints faithful and media alike are doubting Tyler Shough. Shough played a safe, mistake free game knowing that his starting job was on the line after a disastrous Week 2 performance. However, fans think it's too safe. He didn't throw a pass further than the first down marker all day, and his longest pass was 22 yards, 24 of which were yards after the catch on a screen to Devin Neal for 6. When your leading receiver on the day has over 2/3 of his yards after the catch, it's reasonable to have doubts. However, fans and media aren't the only ones voicing their frustrations with the passive QB play. Chris Olave, the undisputed alpha receiver on this team, caught just one pass for 20 yards, and was only targeted twice. That 20 yard pass was a drag route, that went for 18 after the catch. According to Olave's post-game interview (which he took in the tunnel, rather than the locker room) he wasn't even supposed to run the route. "Yeah it wasn't my route, but man I just wanted to get the ball. I can't stand not touching the rock for 60 minutes. I'm just not used to it. I apologize to coach Moore, but he should understand that when you have a star receiver, you get him the ball." It'll be interesting to monitor the situation with Shough and Olave, as they appear to have had a falling out in the film room just days before the Seahawks game. Olave was reportedly frustrated by Shough throwing him into harms way against the 49ers. The pass in question was a slant, a low throw where Olave had to reach down to grab it. By the time he received the ball, he got his helmet knocked off on a Fred Warner hit. Shough responded calmly in the film room, but seemed to be looking him off repeatedly this game.

Kellen Moore Post-Game Interview
"Coach Moore, do you plan on disciplining Chris Olave for his admission of running the wrong route on purpose to get the ball?"
"I mean, he made the play. I've been taught since I was a kid, if you make a mistake, make it at 100% effort. I'm glad he got the first, and moreso glad that we won the game."
"I mean, Olave seemed to be pretty frustrated out there today, what do you have to say about the body language he showed out there?"
"Chris is a professional. He knows he needs to be better, but emotions run high in this league. I don't blame him for getting frustrated. His career as a receiver depends on him getting the ball."
"Yeah, but surely you can't be hap-"
"If you're looking for me to throw either him or Tyler under the bus and side with one of them it's not going to happen. We all have a shared goal, a collective mindset, and that's to win football games. Tyler and Chris will both be doing what they need to do in order for us to do that. Nothing more, nothing less. Thank you, that'll be all the questions."

"Kellen, this team... This organization... It doesn't revolve around just one guy. Sure, we had Brees, we had Graham, we had and still have Kamara and Jordan. But none of those players put the name on the back of the jersey first."
"We'll get him more involved, that should stop the problem. He's not a player that usually lets his frustrations factor his game. We'll go over film with Tyler, make sure he sees what Chris sees."
Several seconds of silence pass, before Loomis silently agrees to the plan. Soon, details of Loomis' expectations arrived in form of a text from the GM. It read "The Chiefs were interested. A first and multiple day two picks. The deal's still on the table. Your gamble better pay off."

GM Mickey Loomis' Office
"Rashid's 27, and his game relies on his athleticism. His contract's expiring this off-season, and neither of us plan on bringing him back when his best skills are in the return game and deep routes. Tyler hasn't exactly been airing the ball out so far, as we know." *Mickey laughs awkwardly*
"I agree with Mickey, coach." - Assistant GM and Head of Scouting Department Alex Breaux. Breaux is just 31, and has been working for the Saints front office since he graduated from Tulane in 2016. He was a depth wide receiver for Tulane, only touching the field as a gunner on special teams. Him and Loomis have already had the conversation about Mickey's shift to an advisory role this off-season. Everybody in the room knows that Alex will be the General Manager come February. Breaux is a team first guy, but he also knows he needs to impress in his first draft to secure his spot in the front office. GM's usually only get 2-3 years of losing before a regime change. "We only have 5 picks this offseason, and two of those are in the 150+ range."
"I know, alright. But Rashid's worked his ass off to get to where he is on this roster. He was an Undrafted Free Agent from Weber State, for gods sake. He's a pro bowl returner, and has proven himself a capable receiver this year." - Head Coach Kellen Moore
"No one said he isn't a great success story. But my focus, like yours, is on the success in the long term for the organization." - Assistant General Manager Alex Breaux
"Fine. What's on the table?" - Head Coach Kellen Moore
"The Jets need a field stretcher and fast. They're trotting out Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard in 2025. They're willing to pay for it, too." - General Manager Mickey Loomis
"My favorite deal is with the Patriots, we'd get back into the two rounds we don't currently have picks in. Plus, they're 0-3, so that 4th is more like a late 3." - Alex Breaux
"The Broncos are offering Mims and a day 3 pick if we throw in Dillon Radunz." - Leo Nicholls. Nicholls is probably the least qualified man in the room. He's 24, and recently out of grad school. He studied Data Analytics at Tulane and graduated Summa cum laude. Along with Data Analytics, he was a graduate assistant for the Green Wave in his final 2 years at the school. He'd never played an organized game of football, hell he could barely throw it the distance of the room he's sat in. But when he speaks, Kellen Moore listens. Moore has spent the past month or so of the season racking Leo's brain about potential ways to improve the offense. "I mean if Shough wants to throw it short and play it safe, he's got one of the lowest Average Depth of Target in the AFC, and still averages over 13 yards per reception. He's averaging nearly 7 yards after the catch on 13 receptions this year. Shaheed's at 2.6. It's an upgrade, both in terms of current play and upside. Plus a pick for us to throw a dart with in the 7th makes it a steal."
"I love Mims, plus the players on the Broncos seem to love him. Sean Payton isn't too fond it seems." - Kellen Moore
"Green Light? All in Favor?" - Mickey Loomis
Done Deal. Wide Receiver Rashid Shaheed leaves the Saints just 3 games into the Kellen Moore era. 7 Receptions, 33 yards, and 1 touchdown. Dillon Radunz played just 33 snaps under Moore. In return, the Saints get Marvin Mims Jr. and a 2026 7th round pick.

Week 4 Preview
If there was ever a time to beat a superhero quarterback, it's when he's missing his sidekicks. That's the situation we have in play today, as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are missing their WR1/WR2, Starting Left Tackle, CB2, Starting Edge Rusher, and rotational Weakside Linebacker. Don't expect our secondary to hold up today, but if we can keep it respectable I'll be extremely happy. We should feast in the pass game today, as they're missing their most talented young corner and elite pass rusher. Expect to see a ton of Mims Jr in his debut, and a lot of Chris Olave, who Mickey Loomis is keeping his eyes on.
