The wins are a bit of the outlier. I wonder if you will get better at the road courses. Is there anything car related to help with that or is it just down to it being tough for you?
yeah the poor results on the road courses and at the first two races skew things, aside from those we're pretty consistent top ten
the two early races just came down to car performance being poor, the upgrades really helped even the playing field
i think the key for the road courses will be getting more laps under my belt at them and to do more tuning and adjustments to the car

ARCA MENARDS SERIES RACE RECAP: Reese’s 150 — Kansas Speedway

McQueen Scores Ninth Win of Rookie Season, Keeps Slim Title Hopes Alive at Kansas

Logan “Lightning” McQueen III put together another commanding performance under the Kansas sun, capturing his ninth win of the ARCA Menards Series season in the Reese’s 150.

After earning the pole with a blistering lap of 33.287 seconds, McQueen led a large portion of the race, showing his Peak Motorsports Chevrolet had both short-run speed and long-run balance. Brenden Queen and William Sawalich stayed within striking distance, but McQueen controlled the tempo through every restart and green-flag cycle, pacing the field with confidence.

Despite a few tense moments in lapped traffic late in the race, McQueen never wavered. He crossed the line more than seven seconds ahead of Queen, with Sawalich finishing third. The victory moved McQueen closer in the championship standings, though Sawalich’s consistent top-three finishes mean the title still runs through the No. 18 Toyota.

“We did everything we could today,” McQueen said. “We had the car to beat from the start, great on long runs, great on restarts. I know William’s still got a little cushion on us in points, but all we can do is win and keep the pressure on. I’m proud of this group for not giving up.”

Alex Ward, Crew Chief – Peak Motorsports
“Logan did everything right today. We knew this car would be strong at Kansas, and he managed the tires and pace exactly how we planned. We’re still chasing that points lead, but if we keep running like this, we’ll make it interesting going into Phoenix.”

ARCA MENARDS SERIES RACE RECAP: ARCA 200 — Martinsville Speedway
Fuel Gamble Nearly Pays Off as McQueen Coasts to Sixth in Overtime at Martinsville
Image

After qualifying 13th, Logan “Lightning” McQueen III and Peak Motorsports took a bold swing with fuel strategy late in the ARCA 200 at Martinsville Speedway, and came within laps of pulling it off.

McQueen’s No. 33 Chevrolet ran inside the top ten for much of the race and cracked the top five as the laps wound down. The team discussed pit strategy and fuel consumption as the checkered flag approached, ultimately deciding that they had enough to finish the race and opting to forego a late stop when most other teams took a splash and go.

When a late caution extended the race into green-white-checkered overtime, the team’s fuel window evaporated. Coming to the checkered flag, McQueen’s car stumbled out of Turn 4, running dry, yet he managed to coast across the line in sixth place, a gritty salvage after a high-risk call.

“It was a roll of the dice,” McQueen said. “We knew we were close on fuel, but track position meant everything here. The overtime definitely bit us, but honestly, coasting it home to sixth was a whole lot better than what we’d have got if we came in for a splash. That’s racing. Sometimes the gamble hurts, sometimes it saves you.”

The result keeps McQueen third in the standings with one race remaining, while William Sawalich’s fourth-place finish virtually locked up the ARCA Menards Series championship.

McQueen did close in on Brenden Queen. Currently second in season points Queen finished 12th, allowing McQueen to close the gap between the two to just six points.

McQueen and the Peak Motorsports crew now turn their focus to closing the season on a high note at Phoenix Raceway.

They Said It
Crew Chief — Peak Motorsports #33 Team
“We took a swing at the fuel call, knowing it would be tight. You can’t win these races playing it safe all the time. Sometimes the gamble works, sometimes it doesn’t. We came up a bit short tonight because of the overtime, but Logan did a great job saving what he could and coasting it home. Sixth place isn’t what we wanted, but given the situation, it’s a solid save.”
