BRONCOS DOMINATE PAC-12 OPENER
GAME RECAP
UCLA came into the game higher ranked but the Bruins felt the wrath of Miller and the Broncos as Boise State dominated the 1st half despite multiple turnoveres.
Boise State jumped out to a early (21-0) lead in the 1st Quarter behind a pair of short touchdown runs by Brian Crum and Jason Whitted. Bronco QB Tua Draft had a huge 1st Quarter throwing for over 200 yds including a 6 yd pass to Jermarcus Boykins but Draft's fast start was spoiled by a pair of INT's that could've even make the lead bigger.
UCAL finally finds the endzone with 2:48 to play in the half as Dexter Rubin scores on a 9 yd run but Boise State answers back as Draft finds Eric Zentner on a 16 yd score that would be the 1st of 2 scores on the day for the true freshman.
A 3rd INT by Draft would give UCLA the ball back with under 30 seconds to play and this time the Bruins made him pay for it as Mohanmmed Odighizuwa finds Cameron McNary on a 45 yd bomb to make it (28-14) at the half.
UCLA opened up the 2nd half with the ball and go 80 yds on 13 plays capped by a 3 yd TD pass from Odighizuwa to Lorenzo Brown to make it (28-21) but Boise State answers with a pair of scores to close out the 3rd as RB Brian Crum scores his 2nd TD of the game (12 yds) and then Roland Finely's 3rd INT of the season, Draft finds Zentner for their 2nd scoring hookup with a 3 yd pass to make it (42-21) going into the 4th.
With a 3 score lead Coach Matt Miller would rest his starters as Draft takes a seat 9 yds shy of a 500 yd day giving way to San Diego State transfer Cameron Hooks who makes his first appearance as a Broncos.
Hooks played well in the final period as he completes 11/19 for 95 yds and 2 scores with touchdowns to TE Roy Carney (9 yds) and Kyle Harmon (8 yds)
After a UCLA scores making it (56-28) both teams would trade FG's first it was BSU's Cedric Eagles nailing one from 48 yds to make it (59-28) before UCLA sends out Zac Worrilow for a 42 yd kick to make it (59-31).. BSU would send out Eagles 1 more time to attempt a 52 yd kick but the ball hits the left upright..

IMPACT FROM THE GAME
Despite their 3rd win of the season and 2nd straight win over a Top-20 ranked opponent BSU moves up just 2 spots to #18 in the latest rankings. UCLA on the other hand drops from #17 to #23 with their first loss of the season.
Boise Sate will travel to Berkley next week as they take on the (3-1) Bears . Cal had started the year 3-0 with wins over East Carolina, FCS Northwest and San Jose State but lost their Pac-12 opener @ Washington (38-31).
TUA DRAFT
With his 491 yds against the Bruins, Tua Draft now has 14314 yds in his career and 131 TD's. leaving him 167 yds shy of Washington State's Luke Falk as the All-time Pac-12 passing leader in Yards.. He is now just 355 yds shy of passing Kellen Moore for the Boise State career record and just 11 Touchdowns from Moore's TD record.. It's a pretty big feat being how Draft has just played in just 35 games in his career vs Moore's 53 games.

tough with the 3 INTS in the 1st half, but doesn't look like it hurt ya'll too much. Excited to see Draft breaking some records. You think he has any shot at the NCAA records?

Finally got caught up! Loving the dynasty so far deuce! Actually really like what you did conference wise, I feel like you really balanced the conferences out a bit. Tough way for 2030 to end but landing the number 2 class is amazing. Solid season far this year, didn’t see that upset loss in the season opener coming. Looking forward to following along as always! (This is LopaKa from OS btw).

You know you're dominating when you throw 3 picks and still blow them out. Draft looks like the guy all future quarterbacks at Boise will be measured against

Appreciate the follow.. I really try and make the conferences more balanced well also keeping regional rivalries alive.. It's weird seeing Florida and Georgia in the ACC but it gives them some power teams and now teams like Alabama, LSU and even Ole Miss are getting a chance to shine in the SEC.
Last year's class is a huge building block for us moving forward.. Sadly this season hasn't gone as well. but I do have some late home games this season so I am hoping to get some guy's late.

Yeah, honestly when I had the 21--0 lead I probably should've just started running the ball but Crum and Boykins are both battling some in game injury stuff and having to take plays off and Whitted just wasn't really getting it done.. when you throw the ball 60+ times mistakes are going to happen. It also doesn't help that I am down 2 starter on the O-Line and like Crum and Boykins it seems like about every 3rd or 4th play I get a O-Lineman leaving the game with a injury.

Draft should pass Keenum for the All-time leader in TD's but I there is no way he catches Keenum's Total Yards of (19,217).. I think I would need a 4 year starter averaging almost 4k a season to do it. The fact I didn't get Draft until his RS SO year didn't give me the chance to try..

BRONCOS RUN OVER BEARS FOR ANOTHER "W"!!
GAME RECAPOne week after throwing for 80 times for 585 yds and 5 TD's in their win over UCLA, Boise State switched gears against the the Cal Berkely Bears as BSU rushes for a career high 213 yds and 3 scores led by SO RB Brian Crum (134 yds 3 TD)
BSU led (7-0) at the end of the 1st and (20-10) at the end of the half . BSU opened up the 2nd half another score as #2 Kyle Harmon continues to shine in his bigger role with Conner Friesz on the sidelines. Harmon would catch his 2nd TD of the game catching a 31 yd strike from Draft as he uses his 6'5 frame to outjump 2 defenders to extend the Bronco lead to (27-10) going into the 4th.
BSU would continue to pile it on in the 4th with the run as Crum scores both his 2nd and 3rd touchdowns to extend the lead to (41-17) with under 3 minutes to play in the game and after a turnover on down's by the Bears, BSU would tack on a 34 yd FG by Cedric Eagles for the final points of the game.

INJURY UPDATE
The Boise State O-Line took another major hit.. Already without JR Quinn Winston (starting RG) for the next 2 weeks, Miller lost Starting RT Jonathan Daniels. A RS SO,, Daniels started all 16 games at RT last year for the giving up 4 sacks, but now Daniel's is gone for the season and possibly even next year as he is out with a Pectoral injury for the next 34 weeis.
